Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but thanks everybody for your advice. I searched on Kelkoo for a 6.5L Morphy Richards and it has come back with one at Amazon for a bargain £24.95, with free delivery! Would post the link but am too technically inept.
Thanks for setting up such an easy to use and helpful thread!

  • I got mine passed to me when grandma died. Its a Tower from the 1980's, economy size. I put it in the loft for several years until this thread inspired me to dig it out.

Have done 3-4 things in it, but the only thing which puts me off is the small size and cleaning the thing. There is no removeable bowl thing to lift out, so you have to be really careful not to get water on the outside or near the plug etc. I like to be able to immerse things in water to clean them, which I obviously can't do with this.

So should i stick with it or consider buying a newer model. I can't decide. I guess unless I see a really good deal on one, I won't bother but reading this thread does make me want to.

    Great read thanks.

I have the large MR 6.5L, as do quite a few others here, and I've only ever once had some of the sauce catch on the side and burn a bit, but it was a very thick sauce I was using and not much of it in relation to the size of the pot. So in general I have no complaints with it whatsoever and would definitely recommend it :)
Guess who just got this slow cooker. My "new toy" arrived yesterday afternoon on and Im raring to go!

I take it you've found our indexed collection of recipes?

If not - you can follow the link in the blue bar at the top of the page.

Ive got lots of chicken from an excellent reduced offer in the freezer, but can't decide between the Chilli and ginger chicken and the Crockpot Chicken Cacciatore!

My slow cooker is a Prima one from John Lewis - it is huge but really good.(and you get the two year warranty). I bought a book called The Slow Cooker Cookbook also from John Lewis, by Gina Steer (before I had discovered the recipes on this site). It is a good book, however, and really well used. Strange dishes in it as well as the obvious - like lemon and orange curd, blueberry muffins, date and toffee pudding, mulled wine, christmas pud etc.

The lemon and orange curd sounds nice. Could you post the recipe into the main Slow Cooker Recipe thread please? That way it'll get indexed next time I update that thread. This one isn't indexed.

    TYVM :)
