Buying a slow cooker (which? & why?)

I'd go for a spag bol sauce - mince, bacon, onions, chopped toms, herbs. You could cook and mash the potatoes to make a small shepherds pie with part of the sauce if there's enough potato (bulk the sauce part out with the frozen veg), and freeze the rest in of the sauce in portion sizes to have with the pasta cooked fresh. Alternatively, I've made sauce, mixed with cooked pasta, frozen and reheated in the m/wave, and it was fine. If you cooked more pasta when you get back, you could have some cold with the tuna and sweetcorn - no need to freeze any of that as they're non-perishable.

how about tuna , sweetcorn , baked beans and pasta. their you have a tasty tuna pasta. we have this loads. if you have any cheese grate it on the top.
corned beef , chopped onion , baked beans and potatoe. mix all together once cooked and u got a form of corned beef hash.
sorry not sure if any can be frozen. just a couple of ideas i had.

I've already got 2 portions of pasta bolognaise in the freezer as I make 3/4 portions at a time when I do it, eat one then freeze the others.
The shepherds pie idea is a definite goer though.
I like corned beef hash too but could I make that and freeze it?
I don't want to buy any more ingredients as I'm going away in 3 days.
Thanks for the ideas.0 -

It says its a 4.5l but does that mean it will be 6.5l when totally full? Or does anyone know of any good offers on 6l ones?
Thanks

Emma,
I believe it means the bowls overall capacity is 4.5L but I don't think you are suppose to fill them full.
I know that Robert Dyas have a Paul Rankin 5.5L for £19.99. And the Morphy Richards 6.5L one for £24.99 which has max capacity for the bowl for 4.5L. Which I know a lot of people on this forum have.
There webpage is here
Hope that helps and at robert dyas they have ones out on display so you can see how big the crock is.
