Wasting food by not getting organised and planning meals; being lazy in not growing or making more food; McDonald's; magazines; 28 DVDs in the Carry On film collection @ £6.99 a time - haven't watched most of them either (£200 sitting in a 'collectors box', with the magazines of course)!; Being lazy and driving a mile to work and back, when 2 x 20 minute walks a day would do me good!

In fact, reading my list, I could do quite a bit about it and stop wasting money now!

I think when I first started out trying to clear my debts I was abit addicted to bargains.:o Hence, my"bargain" clothes are still sitting unworn, :rolleyes:my bargain books unread :ond I have a draw full of Boots Royal Jelly exfoliator that I have been trying to use up for about 18 months...

My debt would have been cleared quicker without my "Bargains"....

...however, it is my goal to read these books and where these clothes which will save me money:T

  • How the hell do they make any money if the only charge they make is for you to pay for the postage?

the only thing I can think of that I wasted money on which may have brough my date closer is a new suit I bought for new job last july. I wore it once then bloated out so much on the free latte's in the staff kitchen that i've not fitted back in it since !!!! time to put it on ebay i think as i'm sure i only fitted in it as i'd lost weight worrying about the interview...

Thats the main problem i find with this website. Most of us come here cos we are in debt and need advice to get out of it.
Then we read the 'Grabbit' board etc and see all the bargains etc and spend loads of money  lol
So we end up saving on one hand and spending on the other. Or am i the only one?

Great site tho, wouldnt be without it ;)
    Errrr...come back later ;)
  • I dont even know where to start!
Two of my ex boyfriends took me for a ride, I even paid to decorate one's house!
I brought a new car when I really didnt need one (not brand new)
The amount of clothes I have brought but will never wear is unbeliveable and I sell them on ebay for a lot less than I paid for them!
The DVD's I brought off ebay, some of which i havent even watched
And the list goes on and on and on, thats why I am in debt!

Some would say my horses cost a lot, but I am lucky as I manage to get them to pay for themselves by having people ride them.

In a way my DMP and no credit rating is the best thing that could have happened to me!
Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day, teach him how to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime

Finally dealing with my whopping debt!

  • So many things- not planning meals, buying what we fancied then throwing half away. We have literally halved our grocery bill by planning and shopping from a list- we haven't actually changed what we eat at all.

Expensive make-up and skin care that I never open or use once then move on to the next fad.

Books on work subjects because I thought they would make me better and more successful- did I think this would happen by osmosis as I never opened them, let alone read them!

Takeaways because neither of us could be bothered to cook- now have a fully stocked freezer for those lazy days so takeaways are now an odd treat rather than a labour saving strategy.

Interesting to read other people's lists.
