Takeaways that really aren't worth it...they always sound better than they really are...talk about ordering on an empty stomach...

Also pretending we were better off than we were.

Also not admitting there was a problem because that meant admitting I'd made a mistake ....OK a whole set of them...

Buying expensive drinks of all kinds. £2 plus for a pint? £3 for a coffee? Sheesh! No wonder money vanishes!
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007

Socialising - I could have done it much more efficiently money wise without even trying, just laziness really! Hey ho... :)
Inspiration is all you need to become debt free!
  • Buying DVD's that i never watch

    Takeaways that ruin the diet

Books that i read too fast - i need to find someway to swop books with people or something!

Smoking - just gloss over it

Flashy light machines (or quiz machines) in the pub which means when im driving to save money and making 2 glasses of coke last all night i spend £5 in the machine instead

There are way too many there, think i need to work on them, lol

Try keeping a spending diary for a month - it'll amaze you! Either keep it in a notebook, or if you're like me and prefer everyhtng online, try www.spendingdiary.com

For me it has to be buying my son every toy/book/outfit available when he was younger, only to realise I now have a loft and spare bedroom full of 'stuff' that was hardly ever used

Also, going to so many gigs all over the UK (and europe on occasion :o )

Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:
  • 1) Takeaways
    2) Eating out every Sunday night (easily £60 each week)
    3) Buying the kids a toy EVERY time I went into town
    4) Ebay - Hubby & I at one point had a terrible addiction to buy rubbish off this site.
    5) £200 per week food bill (What the heck was I buying ???)

We don't do any of the above now and can really see the difference. I still struggle going into town to just bank a cheque and not just popping into Woolworths for mindless rubbish. I try to check myself everytime I feel tempted :-)
  • When my kids were small being so disorganized that I never knew what food was in the fridge and chucking away expensive food like a whole pack of Chicken breasts:mad:
  • Buying an expensive Nikon camera that took film - just before digital:cool:

Buying an Expensive CD Walkman (Shock proof) just before MP3:mad:

but no I never bought a betamax video:rotfl:
