Hi everyone,
Costco is opening a store in Cardiff at the end of this month and i've been told by my workplace that we can get membership. Is it worth it in your opinion? I'm all for moneysaving, but wondered if people use it regularly, or just as a 3-4 times a year thing.
Thanks!

If you can get trade membership through work then that will allow you to go to Costco before 12:00noon on weekdays. You will also pay slightly less for membership and will be able to buy certain restricted products like over-the-counter drugs in bulk e.g. paracetamol. However, it may be that you get personal membership instead through work. Either way Costco is well worth the membership fee IMHO. We easily pay for a year's (trade) membership buying bulk kitchen roll, bog roll, washing powder and dishwasher tablets. Everything else is a bonus. Another great way to save money there is the optical department where eye tests & contact lens checks are just £10 and glasses/contacts are much cheaper than the high street. Do beware the impulse factor though, I find it very difficult to go into Costco and just buy what I went in for. There are so many very cool toys (for kids and grownups) that are very difficult to resistCostco is opening a store in Cardiff at the end of this month and i've been told by my workplace that we can get membership. The real kicker on Costco membership that makes it worth joining is you get your entire membership fee back at any time during your membership year if you decide it isn't for you.0 -

Just been to Leeds Costco and Smoked Haddock is only £6 for large tray. Sorry don't know weight as hubby thrown packaging away, but four large pieces of fish.
Also Brita water filters are about half price of other places.
Can also recommend their own (Kirkland Non-Bio) washing powder.0 -

I have done a post on this on the grabbit board.
Box of 40 hand made Hallmark greeting cards (20p each),very high quality.
£7.69 including vat.
Bought a box of these a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the tip
They are GREAT cards - would easily pay £2.50 - £3.50 per card in the regular card shops. Have sent out a few already. Great for female adult birthdays, kids birthdays, OH even found one suitable to send to his friend! Wedding, birth , bereavement and blank cards are also in the pack. They also have a nice selection of small gift cards which will be useful for cash pressies to our nieces/ nephews etc.
If posting you will need LARGE LETTER stamp as card is fatter then regular size due to its handmade nature.0
