    hi

Has anyone bought a Tefal Actifry from Costco recently and if so what price did you pay. I have seriously been thinking of purchasing the Actifry and I believe around Xmas time they were selling the Actifry for £99. (rrp £149).

    thanks

    Hi Mayz

I bought mine in Costco for £89 a couple of weeks ago. Its absolutely brilliant - not one of those gadgets you won't use - just cut up the chips (or buy ready made) add oil and off you go. They are £150 in Argos and I couldn't find it cheaper on Ebay.
As I am a member of Slimming World I can make Slimming World chips in there and they taste really nice. The hot air system in the machine really spreads the oil out and they come out nice and crispy. Plus you can see through the lid so you can see when they are ready depending on how well done you like them.
It comes with a recipe book and you can cook other stuff in it as well.

I love Costco but it is easy to get carried away like a kid in a sweet shop!

I bought a Sony XDRS10DABZ DAB Radio from Costco today for £41 and a few pennies, which is a good bit cheaper than I could find elsewhere and IMHO a good deal. :)

I totally agree that you need to know your prices before you go daft in Costco, but there are some real gems to be picked up.

We like the chicken kievs from Marks and Spencer, they are made with a whole chicken breast rather than the reformed meat ones you get in most supermarkets. These are £3.50 for 2 in M&S so it works out quite expensive for a family meal.

Costco have a box of 12 frozen chicken kievs for £9, these are also whole chicken breast. Thats some saving.

The frozen Scotch Beef Minute Steaks are very nice too.
£10 for a 1.5kg box, may not be particularly cheap but they are so tasty and very quick and easy to cook.
  • Costco also do 2.27kg bags of Dole frozen fruit. I can't remember the exact price but I think it's about £6. Contains strawberries, pineapple, grapefruit, grapes and peaches. Although a costco shopper I'd never seen it before last week when I had a Pimms at a friends BBQ and asked where he got the fruit from. Way cheaper than fresh and no waste.

I popped into a Costco in the USA yesterday before flying home to pick up some over-the-counter drugs at bargain prices - 1000 paracetamol (acetaminophen in the USA) $7.95, 400 naproxen sodium $11.50 The latter is a very effective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain killer, but is prescription only in the UK so costs an absolute fortune for someone like me who has to pay for prescriptions.

You can also get 2 tubs of 400 allergy medicine (antihistamine) for $15 dollars i think, as well as dealing with hay fever, they are the best sleeping tablets i've ever tried, and non-adictive! 2 of those and i'm out for 8-10 hours.

sugars a good buy...8.19 for 15 bags, works out about 55p a bag.

their shampoo & conditioner is good, 2x1.8l bottles of either for about a fiver!

Kirkland dry catfood is excellent, about £12 for a 11.5 kg bag!
