Second Hand Car Woes! Need Help Fast!!

Comments

  • they did say it was skimmed which is why it took so long but I only have their word for that one. The car itself is still running OK but ticking over with the bonnet up seems like it's quite noisy as if it's sucking air in somewhere or letting it out which indicates to me some kind of air intake/outlet leak (which would explain the emissions light being on if this leak is somewhere within the exhaust system). Again, it's just a confidence thing now between me and the car and if you loose that confidence it becomes a gut churning experience every time you start it!.
  • ... and now the light's went out again! arggh, not sure what I should be doing now - the car is still running fine and was even with the light on, think I'll give it another 24 hours see what happens!.

might be worth getting the fault codes read on tech 2.
least you will know what area is flagging it up.
yours must be fairly new given the price i assume so home reading wouldnt be possible

If this is what I think it is, the AA tried with their equipment but the patrol-man said the car wouldn't talk to his computer for some strange reason. Could have been misfortunate I guess whereas another patrol-man might have got it without a problem. I'm guessing Tech2 is something along the lines of reading error codes?
