I'm looking to buy 3 - 4 gigs.

I purchased 2GB RAM on ebay from the USA for £30 PC 2700 333MHZ 180 pin, took 2 weeks to arrive and works perfectly, could have cost me £160 from PC world.Regards

I always buy RAM from Crucial and will happily recommend them to other people.0

your link was to a 2gb stick, your Dell only takes 1gb sticks - hope you realised

Kingston also do a value RAM, a Gig (various formats available) is less than £20, from memorybits through quidco.
Use crucial's system scanner tool on their website to see what type your pc needs/will support, then go there to buy..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Be careful with Dell Machines as they lock the BIOS down tight, you need compatible memory and not at Dells prices. Would go with the Crucial or Corsair memory.
I had a nightmare trying to find compatible memory for my Dell XPS 420 picked up some "cheap" OCZ 2GB Gold but it kept falling over BSOD etc. After a week of trying all sorts of stuff to include a rebuild the error was discovered to be the Memory it required 2.1V and with the Dell I could not up the memory voltages in the BIOS ended up eventually with some Corsair which runs at 1.9V and works a treat. Good job I use the supplier a lot and they were understanding and exchanged the memory or I could of been stuck with it as in theory it wasn't faulty.Cheers
