zcaprd7 - sorry for the delay in replying.

Unfortunately, I've had the Capital One card for years now so can't take advantage of the 3.9% for life APR deals :(

I'm planning to close this account when I get this card down to zero too.

BTW - just checked my MBNA account online and they've raised my credit limit on that card to a ridiculous £11,600

    :o:o:o:o:o:o:o

One week on, and no "account closed/terminated" letter received from A&L as promised.

I also checked my bank balance online and a £5 direct debit has gone out TODAY to A&L :(

    >:(

Is it really a direct debit that went out?

If they !!!!!! up you can give your bank a right bollocking, instant refund etc (its on the dd guarantee).

    Give them a ring!

Thanks Trix - you cheeky little thing ;) :-*

You certainly made me smile, thanks !

Didn't take much to bring me down again as I still haven't received my copy of Martin's book (ordered through ryanair) or had my Capital One statement yet :(

Getting paranoid now as I didn't get my December "American Express" statement either, methinks I'm being spied on by unknown perpetrators :o:( :-/

Don't worry I haven't received my book (also ordered through Ryan Air) and I haven't got your Capital One or American Express statement either - how weird is THAT :o

Bet CO and AE would soon be shouting if they didn't receive anything from you!

    About been spied on.........DON'T........TURN........AROUND........NOW........ :o

.............or you'll not be able to read the rest of this ;D ;D ;D

Good luck - letters to head of AE & CO by recorded delivery needed ASAP I reckon.

    Cheers again Trix  :-*

Now then, now then (as Sir Jimmy Saville would say)  ;) ...

    ... what have I done ?

Only paid off the balance owing on my Capital One VISA card that's what ! (I had some money put away in an ING account but decided it's better to owe no money, then start saving up from scratch !).

So, new totals as of Monday 29th March 2004 are:

    A&L:    £0 owed, * Account terminated 18/3/04 *  ;D
    MBNA: £0 owed, * Zero balance *  ;D
    Cap1:  £0 owed, * Zero balance *  ;D
    NatW: £380 @ 5.9% until clear  :)
    Amex: £1,324 @ 4.9% until clear = £41 month D/D.  :-/

    Hip hip hooray !!!!

    :);):D ;D 8)
