Hi Ferrett
Can't get this to open on my PC.
Where did you get the link from please?
Opens fine on mine. Its an adobe file.
I got it via the times pages talking about the restaurants included in the offer. There was a link called bonus code or something like that.July MB Challenge- £300.00 got £301.14August MB Challenge - £300 got £524.90Septembet MB Challenge- £300 got £0 (just started)0 -
I am not 100% sure but I'd imagine not. I know whenever we've bought deals it says "Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount. eg we usually have a break at haven blackpool, and they wont let us book a discounted break, it has to be full brochure price.
Plus pleasure beach, you can't give in a 2 for one voucher after opaying for one wristband with deals
You'd be best checking the tesco deals website, it should give clarification there
However, we had lunch for two at slug and lettuce today , and noticed on the bill that one of the deserts went thru at 0.00p, as they normally do this when you have bought a main, and we also got 50% of total food bill, so on this occasion the two promo's went together.
Obviously, can't say if it was luck of the draw, or will happen elsewhere, or relates to us sending back one of the deserts with cold custard. . . .
NB We did tell waitress at start we had a daily telegraph voucher.0 -
I've looked on The Sun website and can't see the application form referred to for the Alton Towers tickets. I couldn't see one either in Saturday's paper. Anyone help? I've probably seen it and not realised. Thanks.0

is www.thesun.co.uk/altontowers and the starter token
was in saturdays sun and the tokens start today 25/20 -
at alton towers you buy your tickets from a kiosk, and then take them to the turnstiles - so i can't see any problem with using adult tickets to get kids in. as long as everyone over 4 has a ticket it will be fine. getting them all for the same day might be a problem though. babies still need a ticket, but it's a free one. it's just that everybody needs a barcoded ticket to get through the turnstiles. there's a gate to take buggies through, the staff scan your tickets for you so if anybody is worried about using adult tickets for kids just send the kids through a turnstile and only the person pushing the buggy go through the gate.
i can't take kids out of school, not even for one day - it's just not accepted here. good offer for couples, teens, people whose children are too young for school etc. or for those who are okay about taking the kids out of school for a day.
my brothers will use these, they can both take a day off work so i'll apply for them.'bad mothers club' member 13

why can't you take your kids out of school? It doesn't matter if it "isn't accepted". By law you're allowed 10 days. I have taken my two out for 10 days every year (My daughter is at grammar school, and they moan a bit there but there's nothing they can do if you dont ask for more than 10 days holiday) and last year I won a free haven hol and pontins hol, so I rang up and said they were sick. The school cant frown on that! I did the same when i took them to alton towers last year with the free offer. (That was a free ticket for all four of us though) I say kids aren't kids long, and you have to grasp every opportunity you can. Mine have had over 90% attendance every year because the only time they've been off sick has been if they've been away on holiday!! lol
Holidays are very educational for children and if I didnt take mine in term time they'd never have a holiday. Are kids supposed to grow up having never been away???? They'd be likely to perform worse at school if they never had any fun. Why should our kids go without holidays when they work so hard and achieve so well, just ebcause their dad doesnt have a very good job? My daughter passed the 11plus with 98% after receiving NO tuiton. my son who is 9 has an academic age of 13. It has done them no harm. And kids who are struggling, provided they are not off all the time, taking them out for 2 weeks will do no harm if you catch up with them at home.
My kids have seen Prague, Amsterdam, Austria, Paris etc etc. They have gone skiing every January. I go without all year to ensure they have these holidays and I am glad, now my daughter is 13, that I have taken them to all these places and had so much fun with them, as very soon, she won't want to come away with us.
Don't let the school get you down. Enjoy your children. As long as there is a happy balance, don't worry about taking them out. if the school frown on it, play them at their own game and ring them in sick.
As for these tickets, maybe we shoukld start a thread and people can apply for similar date bands in the hope we can all somehow swap tickets and get 4 on the same dayI can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
hi,
my eldest doesn't cope with missing school, he's mildly autistic and is having enough trouble coping with the move to high school without my taking him out of school. maybe when he's a bit older though.
we've got tesco tussauds passes so we're at alton towers most weekends anyway. i look out for free offers for him to take other children though. we're going to butlins in the school holidays courtesy of the sunMIL took us abroad in the feb half term and he's going to wales (oakwood theme park etc.) in the easter holiday in a very cheap travelodge room - so he's doing okay for this year for holidays
if he settles into high school then perhaps next year he'd be okay about missing school. i agree that they should be able to have ten days without school complaining. i was a very bad mum just before his SATS exams in year 6 - i booked him one day off in order to grab a cheap holiday in sweden (theme parks again!!) when the ryanair flights were peanuts :T
my brothers will take time off work and go to alton towers together, so this offer is good for them'bad mothers club' member 13

Sorry, as a teacher I just had to reply. I tried ignoring it but couldn't. Whilst I agree with you that we should enjoy our children (I also have my own) and that holidays can be educational I don't think parents actually realise just how much children miss when they are not at school. I won't go into how disheartening it is for children to come back and find they have missed half a topic or have to start from the beginning of a taught subject. I could go on and on but don't really want to start an argument as this is not my intention. I also know how much it costs to take a holiday during school holidays and I appreciate that many can simply not afford to go at these times.
You are one of the lucky ones whose children perform well no matter what but I have to say with 12 years experience in education this is not normally the case. A lot of families also take the 'mickey' as to requesting time off during term time and that is why the limits are put in place. It is also wrong to have 'sick' days whilst you are really on holiday.
By all means enjoy your children and take your 'lawful' ten days, I just wanted to write what it's like on the other side of the coin.
Shoot me down but had to defend my profession!
Sorry, I know it isn't related to the post.'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'
Proud Mummy to two gorgeous miracles.:j0
