Hi there, I am with Telewest and I have their Broadband. I pay £25 for a 1mb line and havent had any problems with it whatsoever. Viewing things runs fine and downloading is quick as well. Im sure there are cheaper packages available and other cheaper companies as well, but I havent had any problems with them. Hope this helps.

I've been with them for years and very, very rarely have problems with internet. There have been in the past few problems with email access but they've since upgraded their email platform and since then haven't had problems.

I discussed this in a little more detail here where I mentioned that they are also doing 12months at £14.99 (normally £17.99) for unlimited/uncapped 512k broadband access for those that haven't had broadband from them before (in other words new customers).

I believe this is a great deal and can recommend telewest for their broadband. Stay away from them for TV and Telephone if you can help it though.

Also, they operate a 0845* number for broadband support enquiries instead of 0870 or premium rate numbers like some other companies do.

Telewest also has very good newsgroups, some providers do not include this service / its not very good.

Howerver i do belive it is overpriced compared with some adsl providers

They are overpriced compared with their competitors but compared to some of the newer ISP's out there who are offering cut price ADSL, they are miles better. My connection rarely goes down and if it does, they fix it quickly. Support is adequate but at least you can get thru! Oh, and they have no download limits unlike some of the cheaper ADSL providers.

Lastly, if you have been a customer for a while then you can ring up and ask for customer relations. Explain you think they are overpriced compared with ADSL and see what they can do. I've been a customer for 4 years and was paying £35 for 2Mbit. They have reduced it to £25 per month for 6 months and I can ring back and ask again once it reverts.

They are also planning 10Mbit, so well worth waiting!!!!
