Ok Im thinking here  brain strain:rolleyes:
Right,, Is your Network showing up on "Veiw Available Wireless Networks"?
If it is then everything is working and your router is denying access to your Network adapter..
Check the Options and or Property's of your Adapter client to see if you can "Allow ""client utility to manage your network connection" as opposed to windows..To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -

Tom, thanks for reply no there are no networks in view. I know the wireless network was working as my wife was able to connect to the network (wirelessly) at the same time I was failing to do so. The strange thing is she had the same problem for a short time on her computer but it seemed to resolve itself, her computer is a lot newer than mine.0 -
start, run, devmgmt.msc
see if the wireless adapter is working, and check there are no yellow question marks.
Did the laptop have wireless built-in, or are you using a card/usb adapter?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -

Yes laptop did have wireless built in, have checked device manager and all appears to be ok0 -
so you can scan for networks, but you see nothing, no neighbours?
is the ssid being broadcast on your router?
the light not working is strange..
you could try a system restore to the point it worked last.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
OK here next to the USB should be a switch.

If not Dell says Hold down the Fn key and hit F2.
If neither of these solutions work you may need to contact dell.
Or alternitavely check out this link to Dell Support.......

Doesn't have switch and Fn F2 doesn't do anything, have been on the phone to Dell and they are struggling too, they will send me a link to check latest drivers, other than that they think card may be faulty.....0
