Don`t you have to queue at check-in to get rid of your luggage anyway?

Nope ..... Not if there is a baggage drop point. :)

You've checked in online, printed your boarding pass and so all you need to do is drop off your baggage and voila. :)

    Hi,

Travelling from Birmingham to Perth via Dubai in March. have requested extra leg room seats which I know is very hit and miss.

It looks as though on line check in might be vailable to us, having never done this before and being used to arriving at check in early in the `hope` of getting these seats, ayone know how it works online?

IF my request is noted and acted upon, if I check in online, will extra leg room seats already be allocated?

If it hasn`t, if I check in at the first avalable opportunity (24hrs before), will I have the option of choosing these seats?

How does this work with the second flight (Dubai to Perth) in a different aircraft?

    Any other advice/suggestions also welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

We're going to Sydney with Emirates in March, and because I wanted to sit in a threesome with my two kids, and not have anyone else to bother about, I rang Emirates and pre-booked specific seats. At least then you can discuss the leg room issue with someone and where it would be best to sit. I pre-booked the seats 2 months in advance, and have pre-booked with Emirates before successfully, but not because of leg room, cos I'm only 5'5 and kids are under 5' so can't comment specifically on that!! I don't bother with online check in. It takes up part of the time you have to spend sitting about at the airport.

When we checked in at Manchester. There was a long queue. We went straight to the online check in desk to drop our bags, two minutes. I can't understand why more people don't check in online.
  • well if the online checking in facility at the emirates website worked then we would all use it!

I started to check in 24 hours before departure, and all i kept getting was this error message:

"Sorry, we were unable to process your request. Please check in at the airport"

i rang up emirates in the UK and they said where was a technical fault with their website!

now i have to queue when i get to airport!!! i hate queuing!!!! :(
