I've used tesco, and found it took just as long as shopping in store. They didn't always bring what I ordered, and once delivered to the wrong address - who hapily accepted it - it took a bout a week for them to sort this out, but they had my money.
They were also very fond of substituting buy one get one free's for the same in the non offer, so I would have to pay doubel; I always sent those back.

Anyhoo, I don't bother any more.

Iceland were very good, and their substitutions were reasonable, but they don't deliver any more - shame.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
  • Tescos online orders are picked and packed by 2 year olds on work experience under the blue card scheme.
There can be no other explanation.

However, revenge may be gained by calling the number on your order sheet and complaining that some of the more expensive items are unuseable/short date/split etc, and getting them credited back to your account along with the delivery charge.

Or so I have heard :)

As someone who picks and packs for Tesco Online orders I can asure you that I am not a 2 year old, or on work experience or on the blue card scheme.

Maybe its just that certain people demand the specific items they want, and in which case you should select the no subsitutions option.
    Titch :)
  • When iwas shopping in my local Tesco last week i came across 2 ladies collecting the online shopping for at least 3 people at the same time of having a personal converstion with each other. Now i know for a fact that my local Tescos which delivers has had neumerous complaints about missing items of shopping and customers receiving items from another customers order. Obvioulsy to shop for more than one person at a time is going to be quicker but mistakes are also going to be made. It would be so easy to put the item picked off the shelf into the wrong box especially if at that point distracted by a shopper in the store asking where they can find something. When i personnaly shopped on line my gripe was not that i had recied a substitution for an item that wasn't available my gripe was that i always had at least £5 - £10 of my shopping missing or I had someone elses which meant i either had items i didn't want or i had to go out and re do my shopping which i had paid to receive a service. To expect the staff to shop for 3 people at once and not makes mistakes is a little bit adventurous. Tescos in particular needs to employ more staff to do the on line shopping service.

Don't miss out - the only one worth using is Ocado.com - It's miles better than the others, we think it's fantastic. :T

To give Tesco's their due I have never really had a problem. When I received something I didn't want they took it back and gave me a refund. When I later found a problem item (ie, burst bottle of milk, or missing items) a quick email to Tesco and they refunded as necessary very quickly. Perhaps its just my local store, but I am happy with the service that they provide and would have no problem in using them again.

  • I use tesco, sainsburys and Asda depending on the codes I have to save me cash. cant use Ocado as I live In Edinburgh.

My tip for asdas is to enter your til receipt details from a big shop then its all online for you to readily click on to. also put all the money off codes you get on to the e codes part of your account as and when you get them, that way when you shop online its so easy. Have had the odd late delivery however they refund the delivery charge and if there is a problem with a product after delivery man has gone they also refund without quibble. Substitutes are in bags so that if not suitable they take them away. I always get a few substitutes for products that always seem to cost more but they price match so you can really score.

IF you are registered with tescos and use your card in store it updates your regular items and this saves so much time when you need to shop.

Bear with it and use it for all the big bulky and heavy items you can save a fortune with all the codes found on this site. shop in store for bits and bobs using all the coupons you have. Works well for me.

Also if you use a few stores on line they tend to email you saying you have not shopped with them for sometime and they give you codes to entice you back.
  • Well im off on my hols for a couple of weeks and will be skint when I get back so might try home delivery if I get money off codes on here as I have run out of coupons.

Anything to save a bit of dosh :D
