to everyone that got one of these, the red bit at the top irritated me, i wanted to know what it was for, so i emailed the company that makes them, and here is the response i recieved back :-

Hello there, these pens are modelled on the leap pad plus writing pens
which can take a pencil lead inside. However the pen you have does not
have this function, it is simply made from the same mold, Thanks.

seems a bit daft to me, we all know what kids are like, if something comes apart, they will take it apart, and my kids and i am sure other peoples kids, like putting things in there mouth, so to have this feature when there is no use for it, seems pretty daft on a small childs toy, o well at least we all know what it is for, or sorry what it is not for now, HTH Dave.

Thanks OP, my blue leappad and games and bag have arrived and I have been given the refund.... Checked with the bank and it was taken out as £23.50 but then refunded £18.50 :j :j
