  • I ordered mine Thursday night but its not arrived yet. About the red bit on the pen. My son got a leappad plus writing a few years ago and the red bit on the end of that it to retract and push down the pencil for the writing books. I presume these leappads are just the reading ones but perhaps they just make all the pens with red bits on. My son's pad stopped reading the word you pointed to and started reading two lines below, and with a large collection of books, he's been after a new pad for months. Well it was either that or sell all the books. This offer made the decision easy!

  • Mine arrived this afternoon, didn't expect an afternoon delivery. I stayed in all morning incase it came then went to the park. Whilst we were out the courier dropped it over our gate and put a note through the door. It was well packaged but I was half expecting it not to work after being dropped like that! The pen is identical to the one in our old writing system except it has a bit of plastic inside under the red knob rather than a pen. Our old books seem to work fine in it even though the design looks totally different , except for the writing ones- obviously.
DS2 loves it, now I can see arguments coming, even though ds1 hardly used his old one. Perhaps I shoud have got 2! I followed the trouble shooting advice that came with the new one to see if I could rescue the old one (basically change the batteries and clean the points) but it didn't help all it does now is click whatever you do with the pen.
  • Great find. Thanks.
