Do the army have any kind of welfare organization that will help with debt counseling ? I'm sure there's a lot of forces families in your situation.
The important thing it seems is for you to find another job so don't just apply in the paper. Think outside the box a little-apply to agencies and to ads but also if you see a company who you think you'd be an asset to -drop them a CV with a covering letter telling them why you are the person for them and asking them to consider you for any vacancies they may have. The letter could arrive at just the right time and they'll see you before bothering to advertise.
As for the IVF-woul;d the money be better spent in a year when you aren't so stressed as you'll be on top if things by then-plus worry messes up fertility anyhow and you can't afford to feed yourselves right now let alone a child.
I know it's tough to wait but it's also awful to be struggling with debt with a baby reliant on you. Babies cost money and one of your priorities is buying a house so you need to be really sure you don't take on anymore debt or expenses and start defaulting at this point. Babies are expensive and a year isn't so long especially as you are so young.
Have a clear out -clothes sell on ebay, books, computer games cds all go on amazon -and car boot season is about to start. You know what they say-one man's junk is anothers treasure.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

ras. thanks again. well the stress is not helpin but wen u av bin tryin for so many yrs n lost so many babies its hard to put off the ivf n hats why we wanna save money n hopefully get saved up for the treatment n handle our debts all at the same time.
Hi
There has been quite a lot of stuff re acupunture and IVF recently. Enough for the Penisula Medical School to be doing a full blown randomised trial on it. It may be worth holding off for a year and keeping your eyes out for that. It would be a lot cheaper than failed IVF. Also have you both been refered for genetic counselling?i done the cccs thing it said we needed iva or dmp n its goin down that route which am not to sure about or if it will be best option for us. bin in touch wiv payplan too n their ringin back tomoz for a 45 min phone appointment, also spoke to another company who r sendin us a info pack out for DMP as they think we shud do that but they also want fees.
please PPLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE A COMPANY THAT CHARGES FEES. aLL THAT MEANs IS THAT LOTS OF YOUR MONEY DOES NOT GO TO THE CREDITORS. Despite what the fee paying companies suggest, the reports here suggest that payplan and CCCS are better at getting the creditors to eventually freeze interest than the fee payers.
The other thing that I have noticed is that people on fee paying DMPs are often paying more a month that people with CCCS and payplan and struggle more juggling their payments. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Does not matter still drop sky NOW as it will save something like £16 a month better in your pocket then waiting for another two months.
I know you know this but you need a job at the moment just any job. I do understand that you having a hard time I was so bad at one stage I did not work for two years and lost all my confidence. But thank goodness I did go back to work as after 4 months at work the major brown stuff hit the fan and without my job we would have been homeless.
Also I noticed that both your car insurances where very high. Is that because you have only recently turned 25. I would take another look around and see what you can do.
Also rather than making your self miserable trying to save money. Think of it as a game of how much money you can keep in your pocket rather than in the pocket of the shops.
All the best now and in the future.
Yours

I have only been out of work for one week, i av applied to loads of agencies n i dont use the paper i use the online jobcentre website for all jobs. got a few intrviews durin this wk so see how it goes, in meantime just waitin for agencies to get back to me n other jobs which i av applied for. i wanna work i got laid off i did not want to leave my job.
ras, oh am defo not gonna use a company wiv fees, their the first i spoke wiv n av bin shoppin around since then.
calley well my insurance is high as i av only been drivin for 7months n my hubby is high as he has points on his. my insurance gets renewed in june n i av compared n it will drop by £200 n my last payment for current one is actually march
thanks every one xx0 -
You have got this pretty well taped, but a couple of thoughts.
When I waited for agencies to call me, they rarely did. I rang them several times a day on Thursday and friday each week and Monday if I did not get a job. It was easier for them to get me into work than not do so.
Whe you renew your insurance, use the comparision sites and then see if you can get cash-back via www.quidco.com or another cash-back site.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
hey ras thanks for that i usually just use !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. will av a look at that tho, thanx. well i think i will try ringin the agency. i av rang them twice this wk all ready n they all just say same thing, nothin in yet n call u back wen summit comes in.0

Don't settle for just calling and using the internet. Go to places like Tesco and Asda and see if they are taking on staff. It doesn't matter if it's unsociable hours right now as you need the money.
IVF.... You might not like to hear this but right now you are young and you have a LOT of debt. You can barely feed two of you let alone cope with the demands of a small baby and the inevitable costs of this. Postpone this plan for now and spend a couple of years working on reducing your debt however you can. Stop worrying about your credit rating in 3 years in case you want to buy a house. With over £40,000 worth of unsecured debts I really doubt any mortgage lender will lend you much money... You have to fix the mess you're in first THEN start thinking about family and buying a home.
Do you know where the money went? I mean £40k is a lot... Are we talking expensive holidays, designer clothes, cars? Can any of it be sold again to recoup some of this money? Like cars can be replaced with cheaper versions.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Hi sofedup, well done for posting. Regarding second car insurance if you do less than 5000 miles a year in second car ,then Norwich union do a pay as you go insurance, I have this and they installed the telemetric device for free, i have fully comp, full breakdown recovery and protected no claims and legal protection. It is working out to cost me £120 for the year i have had it for about 5 months and have paid about £50 so far- one month was free because they charged me too much flat rate before the device was installed. It works out quite well for younger drivers. I drive a Nissan Micra 1.2 and its 2 years old. It's worth giving them a ring and seeing if they can cut it down - i've saved over £250 from previous insurers and difference in lowest quote.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
