in a mess n dont know wot to do, this is killin me

hi all,

please be nice am new to this site and have only just registered. I dont know where to start really, me n my hubby are in such a mess n its mainly all my fault, (really bad wiv money n i want everything). I am loads better now tho i know how important money is n i never want for anything n e more av changed so much.

sadly the damage has all ready been done tho n we have debts all over the place, where struggling now, we pay everything off each month were never late wiv payments but we have no money left for our selves once everything has been paid, were avin to use the credit card just as we have paid payment for it so that never goes down as we borrow it straight back.

I av bin in touch wiv loads of diff websites like trappes, cccs and payplan, all have suggested IVA or DMP. were so confused as we dont know wot to do, we dont wanna make our credit ratin bad by havin defaults put on and we live in army accomodation and want to buy in about 3yrs time and were worried if we go down those routes we wont be able to get a morgage. I just dont know wot to do am losin sleep at nite n we av got personal problems to and we need to save up alot of money for fertility treatment (4500 by july) we aint got extra money to save this up n were worried that if we do IVA or DMP the extra money we save n put into savings for treatment mite get taken off us n asked to be put into the IVA.

sorry for such a long post i just need some help or advice please :o:o

  • Hi sofedup,

I'm sorry you are feeling so upset at the moment. Wht don't you start by posting a SOA on this thread so that we can see where you may be able to cut down etc.
Just post a list of all your income each month, (wages, benefits etc),
then a list of all outgoings, ie food, clothes, utility bills, car expenses, and then list all your debts, their outstanding balances and the monthly repayment values with interest rates.

Sounds alot i know, but once you do it you can see where your money is going.
    Total debt at LB Moment (Nov 2007) = £6583 £4649 20.03.09

  • Hiya

Just wanted to say chin up. You have come to the right place, I too feel exactly like you and came on this site for help/advice. The people on here are fantastic and will make some really good suggestions to help you.

My advice would be face up to it, its not going away (I am speaking from experience) try contacting CCCS I found them really helpful, also as suggessted post your soa and see what advice is offered, others may see ways to cut back that you cant and all advice is useful.

Take care and hope you manage to get something sorted.

  • Hi & welcome
First ones -Gym membership, sky cancel both.Saving £72 per month
Mobile phone that is an awful lot.Is it contract ?
Either lower tariff or even better PAYG.At moment paying over £100 per month for telephones and internet
Car warranty is this really necessary?Putting £20 in a bank account would cover nearly everything.
What car is it ?could you sell and get a cheaper one BIG saving if you do
Xmas hampers?£60 cheaper to do yourself

Cut up all store cards.Start a spending diary.Overdraft clear this.only spending what you can afford.
Sure others will be along soon with more advice
Remember only people who say money doesn't matter have already got enough

    Hi there RAS

I think that if the OP is in Army accomodation that and council tax will get taken straight from hubbies wage before he gets paid..and mess dress will be to cover her hubbies uniform..higher rank means big bills for this and the "MESS" (bar, functions etc)bills too
