and even a solid metal hammer head.
Not that impressive really, a hammer head is a relatively 'soft' metal, it needs to be so that it won't shatter. Are there any Metallurgists who can give a better explanation?
A junior hacksaw could cut into a hammer head, would that impress you?
I saw one of these demos once, took the free knife and cleared off! If they are so great why aren't they more widely available so the company can make more money?.....0 -
I bought a set in Birmingham about three years ago, brilliant knives, even my freebies are still sharp.0

We bought a set of these a few years ago and kept a couple and gave one to MIL as a Xmas pressie. We love ours! We have a bread knife and a paring knife, plus two little fruit knives. Can't remember what we paid but it was about £20 ish and they are fab!
Wouldn't have thought you could return to shop though as they are a concession.

i got a set in debenhams luton a few weeks ago, no they're not the best quality i have used (used to work in a kitchen that had Global knives, they were great but generally cost over £30 a knife) but they do work well enough0

I got 2 bread type knives (serrated), a filleting knife (smooth) (really recommend this one, i use it constantly) and I think a big cabbage cutting size knife too.
I cannot remember how much they cost, but anyway, could not find my copper pipe cutter while repairing the kitchen sink about a year ago, so I cut the copper piping with the bread knife.
It is certainly slightly blunter than previously, however you have to consider that unlike a smooth blade, serrated do not need the same requirements. I must be honest I did want to return it, just I've never got around to doing it.
I have sharpened the small free knives, but on the other hand, they were free and to be honest, overall a really good knife.
Even if they did not promise this "forever sharp" thing, still good knives, however certainly not worth the RRP. Only get if seriously discounted to sensible prices. They beat knife sets like those in IKEA hands down.0 -
I bought these knives in Asda about a year ago for the same price as OP. I think the knives are all great, but then I've never bought a set of "good" knives before. But I can confirm that they do cut through frozen meat easily and have taken a few chunks out of my wooden chopping board. Have also nearly lost a finger tip using one of the small paring knives so wouldn't recommend letting the kids chop the veg with them. But apart from my clumsiness, no problems and they still seem as sharp as the day I bought them.0

Funny how they have been "about to be released in the uk" for several years now though! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
