Whatever happened to toast racks? you never get sweaty toast with them.
I always "tent" mine (inverted V) till cold - no sweat that way if you haven't got a toast rack.
Sounds like most people either scrape or eat burnt toast  .:wave:0 -

Err... you could just eat toast that isn't burnt?0 -
Do you scrape it?
I do and it drives my OH mad as he would just chuck it (although he never burns the toast!!)
Once you have scraped off the burn its ready to go i don`t see the problem??0 -
ELIZA_D, on the rare occasion that I do burn the toast, I NEVER chuck it...but here's a handy tip...
Rather than use a knife to scrape the burnt carbon off the toast, I rub the two burnt toasts together over the sink. That way you don't get all that rubbish in the butter/marg./jam etc.
Obviously only really works if you have two burnt toasts (though I have managed to use the crust of one toast to scrape off the other) and I can't remember how I learnt to do it (probably my father or mother) but it keeps my breakfast clean!0 -
Hi Eliza,
There's an earlier thread on this subject so I've added your post to it to keep all the replies together.

Always wondered why they had a setting on a toaster for "hot as the sun", it's for you crazy lot that likes burnt toast.
I try not to burn my toast but will scrape it off before eating it if I do.I hate migraines.0 -
My idea of toast is to show cold bread that there is a toaster in the kitchen - that's it done. Its more warm, amaemic bread than toast.
Can't touch it if it has too much colour, let alone black on it.
This may change when I get my own house and have to start buying my own food. As I will be living with my bf who likes the old cremated stuff. How long til pay day?

Please don't feed birds toast. There was a chap on the radio talking about birds a couple of days ago, and he said bread fills birds up so they don't get the nutrition they need and they can even starve if they eat too much bread. And if a mother bird feeds toast to her chicks they can choke and die. He said if you must put it out then soak it in water first so the chicks can swallow it.
And just to join in the conversation, I'm another one who likes their toast cold as I don't like the butter/spread soaked into it.0 -
Definitely NOT burnt yuk!! I like it hot and buttery, lightly golden and squishy in the middle.
My sister and her daughter both like it cremated!Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0
