yes, always scrape burnt toast - I dont mind it a bit singed, and preferably cold! When I was a kid it was often the sound of my dad scraping the toast that woke me up... he seemed to burn it and scrape it everyday!0

lol i like burnt toast too & every now & then actually really fancy it. usually though it's just when someone has turned the dial & forgotten to say anything that I end up with the burnt bit. I won't eat it though if it has been cremated.
Hugs

All this wasted burnt toast, if I even considered throwing it in the bin my dogs would be disgusted with me and dive in after it. Nothing food wise gets wasted here with 2 walking dustbins :rotfl:One day I might be more organised...........

The conversation used to like this in my house. "Dad - Whats that noise?" It OK lads it's your mother sharpening the toast again - don't worry the smell go away eventually!! _pale_
I still prefer mine very dark and very hot.The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
carbon is good for you - in moderation - too much may be carcinagenic (sp)..therefore scraping toast is a good thing!! dont waste it just because its a bit black.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

I like toast well done - to stop 'toast sweat' lol at that - I drape toast over a knife.
I saw a snippet on BBC breakfast about 'burnt' toast being carcinagenic. It may be true, but I think of the millions of slices of toast, burnt and scraped, that are eaten each year, eaten with bacon that is also supposed to be bad for us because it is smoked/cured, or marmite which is full of salt, or butter which is animal fat, or eggs which we should only eat once a week and I think someone is paid lots of money to think up things they can prove causes cancer when force fed to 50 lab rats over their lifetimes.
This is to stop us all feeling complacent and pleased with ourselves because we've stopped smoking, cut down on alcohol (well, I haven't actually done that), taken more exercise and cut down on animal fats.
I think they can all go to the devil.......:rolleyes:0 -
if we stopped eating everything that was supposed to be bad for us, what would we eat??Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

You are most definitely not alone and I have been known to do this too, but usually only if it is lightly burnt or was the last piece of bread.
Only blackened? We never had a "proper" toaster when I was growing up - we always had to use the grill - and I was known as the toast burner. Quite often it would be in flames :rotfl:. We didn't have smoke alarms in those days to tell us when it was ready :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
