  • I LOVE burnt toast, cold and bendy :rotfl:
DS has the toaster set to what I call "stale". It's about a change in texture but not colour. He also likes me to fan the toast so as to avoid toast sweat:p

Of course I'd scrape it - what a waste otherwise!

    Another one here :D

I used to only butter my toast after it was cold but now I do like it hot - but I either stand it in a pyramid or waft it to cool it first cos I hate "wet" toast. Mine has to be ever so slightly browned, and I scrape toast.

"proper" bread, thick sliced (looking like it's been chainsawed by the time I've finished!) toasted so sticky up bits always end up v. dark brown to black but most is just brown. Not too much butter and not put on when toast is too hot so it goes runny but must not stay hard either - just gently warmed through and spreadable consistancy (like to use other half of toast to rub it around a bit:o )
Ohh I feel soooooo hungry now!:D

PS best served with hot chocolate or a glass of red wine - I'm not fussy!

edit - got carried away and forgot the scraping bit! - yes as long as it's not cremated it positively adds to the flavour! And if you lick your finger you can dip it in the scraped bits and eat them up too!

    Yes.

Grannybadexample gave me some very helpful instructions when doing toast. She said: "When it's brown it's done, and when it's black it's bu g g ered up!"

    That's true, that is. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Yes I scrape toast but I would like to know how I only manage to burn the toast when I am using the last pieces of bread in the house to make the toast? So I really have no option but to scrape
