Looking for the ultimate waterproof mascara

Options
I'm still looking for THE ultimate waterproof mascara.

I wear contacts non waterproof mascara just seem to slide down my face.

I usually use Lancomes Hypnose, but I've tried Amplcils (Ok) & Extreme (not keen on the brush).
My sister tried the YSL one, didn't think it was all that.

I'm not interested in any of the cheapies under £10 as I'm pretty sure I've tried EVERY one of them & never found the ultimate mascara.

Waterproof is non negotiable & I like the normal old fashioned brush, not these funny new ones.

Any Estee Lauder ones any good?
Or Gurelain?
Or any others worth trying?

Apart from being waterproof I'd like one that makes my average lashes look great:D

  • I've tried pretty much every mascara going and have only found one which doesn't run on me but its well below £10 so i guess its one you've tried.
It must vary from person to person co some have been so bad on me but really good for friends.

Do you use eye cream? That can make mascara run.

    No.

Love Benefit Bad Gal, great mascara but runs all down my face.

Lancome Hypnose is good, but something with the staying power of hypnose & the thickening & lengthing of Bad Gal.

    I want it all don't I, LOL

    Don't we all?!! :)

I'm just happy to have one that doesn't run. I've given up trying to find one that doesn't run and is wonderful in every way too!

  • Why do you want waterproof? Do you swim or is it that you don't want it to smudge?

I always used to wear waterproof mascara as I thought it would stop it smudging. To be honest it didn't make much difference. At the moment I wear masterpiece max by max factor (not waterproof) and have no issues with running.

It did take me wasting my money on things like Diorshow, YSL FauxCils, Hypnose and others before coming to this conclusion. Out of the high end mascaras though I liked the YSL one the best.

As I said I wear contacts & I don't know what it is, if my eyes are runnier than the normal person, but if I don't wear waterproof it ends up under my eyes. I think my eyes must be a bit fluid or something.

I've tried masterpiece - hated the brush end.

    Might try the YSL one

Yeah they seem to slide off mine too.

I put it down to wearing contacts, do you wear contacts?
