I don't think it's reasonable to expect the pensions office to get the arrangements changed in less than two working days - even commercial banks don't work as quickly as this. It'll probably be there next week.
I did think that to pay the first weekly payment on the Monday after I informed them on the 16th would be very quick indeed. But this is what the chap I spoke to told me would happen.
I imagine they will pay two weeks next Monday and weekly thereafter.

Sorry, margaretclare. I don't know how to do links

I had a letter from the Non Cam Pensions department yesterday, whatever that is. They want details of my 2006-7 employment. I've no idea why. I was teaching full time and paying NI as normal.

Has anyone else had a letter from them?

I'm eligible for my state pension on 3rd August 2010 and have elected to receive it 4 weekly.

Would like to know the date of my first payment.

Yes I know I should contact The Pension Service but I'm so fed up contacting them trying to sort additional payments things out that I thought I would try here for a simple straightforward answer.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Can't tell you the precise date but when you choose the 4-weekly option, it's paid in arrears; if you choose weekly payments, it's paid in advance.
