I don't get the problem, Margaret, I should have thought having it come in each week would make budgeting easier? (OK, most months 4, some months 5, but that's surely easier than having double come in every so often?).
If it's that you use use a spreadsheet geared to monthly sums, you need only feed the monthly equivalent into it.0 -
Actuallly, I find it easier to cope with my system of 'sweeping over' the fixed amount of state pension from my savings account - on a date I choose - than I do the fact that, instead of getting paid one salary on 20th of every month, as I used to, I now get my main pension on the 20th, one annuity on 14th and the other annuity on 7th of every month. It's quite difficult to adjust to three payments spaced out, rather than one biggy.0

The options were: weekly in cash via a payment book, or 4-weekly into a bank account. It's only since the payment books were abolished that we've had this option of weekly payments into a bank account.
Hey, and we got the notices of the new rates from April this morning. 3.9% doesn't sound a lot but the new rates look pretty good on paper!0 -
I'm due to retire in 2 months and I've asked for my pension to be paid weekly. I plan to use it for my food, petrol, and everyday use. My company pension will be paid into another account and my DDs will come out of that one as it covers the cost with a bit extra for saving. My theory is that I'll only feel broke for a few days if I overspend my weekly budget instead of a whole month." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Not old enough yet but having read this thread I will opt to have it paid weekly in January 2010.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

We too opted for weekly for all the reasons given. Like Margaret said, per calendar month would be much more sensible than 4-weekly. We have OH's company pension on the first of the month so work with that to cover all the DDs and use the weekly payments to cover any occasional shortfall. Otherwise we transfer the surplus to our savings account.
Still getting used to it but it seems to be working OK.0 -
