I made banana bread the other week from bananas that were about two seconds from nuclear meltdown, and it was glorious!

that and saving loo roll tubes to plant seeds in and pop bottles to cut in half and creat mini greenhouses over the plants, and asking all family members to do the same for you0

this thread is great, just been reading through it and agree with lots, esp the spending ages hunting for something before coming to the conclusion that i must have sold it. Also the £2 coin thing, i've just had to take a load of them to the bank to make my cc payment, it physically pained me at the time!!
oh and using the self service tills at tesco and asda cos they nearly always give you £2 coins in the change (and working out your spending so you can get a £2 coin in the change!)Debt Free March 2010 :j DFW member 874, Proud to be dealing with my debts. !

Why have I never thought of that before - it's really gone against the grain putting the tubes in the recycling tub since school and playgroup stopped taking them for crafts - I have a reason to save them again - Yay!DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

I know I'm now a DFW when I'm flicking through my drawers for stuff to put on Ebay and find a birthday card and think......I must remember that is there!
Now I know you can buy almost anything on ebay but exactly what kind of drawers are we talking about?:rotfl:
And if it's THAT kind of drawers, how did the birthday card get there????

When every activity/party/wedding your invited to is viewed with a quick working out of how much the gift, beer money and petrol will cost you before you confirm your attendance.:D
.. and feel relieved if you have a watertight excuse to decline so that you can either
a) send just a card
or, if they are close relatives/friends
b) buy a cheaper present
... but still feel aggrieved that you feel you have to spend money declining the invitation! (For once I feel guilty at my meanie measures - have definitely done this recently!)Cheap and cheerful. Preferably free. :T LBM - more a gradual rude awakening.

Wanted to bump this thread as I love it!
I keep Ebaying the kid's old toys, clothes etc and use the threat 'if you don't tidy up your toys I'll put them on Ebay' or the kid's telling me ' these jeans don't fit me anymore so you can flog them on Ebay mum'0
