Tesco Misleading Customers? Beware

I have had substitutions from Tesco add £30 to my bill.
I usually shop monthly, so you imagine the number of bags I have!
The 'no subsitutions' substitutions and rubbish service did it for me - Sainsburys have been brilliant for me. Seriously recommend them.Always another chapter0 -

If you're not happy just return any item
If the final price charged for any item is more than you wanted to pay, you can return it and we'll give you a full refund. Just give it back to the driver and we'll take care of it for you.

its alright saying to give it to the driver but would anyone ask the driver to wait while you check the receipt,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

Just wanted other people's advice on this one.
Tesco are driving me mad, and I will not be shopping with them again..
Reason below!!!!
I ordered my weekly shop with Tesco and once it had been delivered (10 minutes late and with items missing as per usual), I went through the entire receipt as I normally do and noticed I had been overcharged on a pizza I bought.
It was listed at a £1 and they charged me £2.49. I emailed them to complain and they said it was their right to change the price as it was merely a guide, and I could not return the item as it was perishable.
My argument is that they should have told me about the price change when delivering the item so I had the chance to give it back - otherwise they could do this with all their items, and we could all end up paying a price for our shop that we never agreed.
Instead of doing the honourable thing and refunding me £1.49 on a £70 shop, they are refusing the budge. I have now reported them to the office of fair trading, not that I care about £1.49, but I just think they are completely in the wrong.
Any thoughts???
Hi - Just to let you all know, I have now been offered 250 points on my clubcard for all my bother! I also have had a response from the consumer advisory people saying that Tesco appear as if they are breaking their contractual obligations, and therefore the law....
I have responded to Tesco firstly asking that I want my delivery charge back as they were 10 minutes late, and also that if I dared ever order from Tesco again, I would purposely keep the drive 15 minutes if need be, at my door until I checked every single item against my original order. I would advise you do all do the same, and that way they will be late for all their subsequent orders, and have to also refund the delievery charge to all our fellow consumers!0 -

Hi Can you forward me the response from consumer advice people as I have just had a similar experience to you:
Tesco order just arrived.
Ordered chicken fillets with a max pack price listed on website of £3.69 (for largest pack) and they delivered same product but charged me £6.23 for smaller pack than ordered. Now the website says £7.39 max pack price. Phoned customer service and they said £3.69 is only a guide price, but I only agreed to pay a max of £3.69 for that particular item.
Basically what has happened is that they have doubled the price of that product in the 2 days since the order has been made and they think it is perfectly acceptable to not bother telling anyone who has made an order that they will now be charged double what was original max price of the item.  :mad:0 -

You are quite lucky that you consider 4.3 miles away that Asda is too far.
I suspose it depends if you drive or not, do you not drive?
My nearest is Waitrose at 3 miles but can't buy loads in there, another mile on is Tesco is at 4 miles, then in another direction I have a Sainsburys & Asda then in totally another direction I have Morrisons at about 8 miles.
I actually considered myself lucky to have all that choice, but none of it is on my doorstep.
I don't find any real difference between the big 4, Waitrose & M&S are very expensive, but the others are all the same I think.0 -
Tescos delivery is going down hill. Even if I get what I ordered the quality can be poor. Problem is finding time to trapse to Morrisons. Iceland or Farmfoods. I actually shopped in MrTs this week (to save on delivery as no codes working) and my stress levels went through the roof.
I love the convenience of online shopping. I can get it all done in under an hour. Sainsburys apparently do deliver here but I am concened at cost and not knowing any off their products. I really hope Asda find their way here soon.:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0 -
I have a waitrose and sainsburys close by, but in term of quality, choice and value Tesco's is worth the extra 2 miles IMO.. and I don't mean average of all factors I mean any oneAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

I do too, and have never had any problems with them making a fuss about it - I tend to do it whilst they are putting all the crates back in the van anyway, but I certainly wouldn't stop checking my receipt just because the driver looked unhappy about it.0
