Fight on MissHB - I agree with other posters, Tesco groceries delivery service sucks!! Was totally dissatisified with it. Gave up on them long ago.
  • very handy having the CEO addy, thankyou! :j

their grocery deliveries have gradually been getting worse & i've having a bit of a battle with them over the latest c@ck up!
  • ocado all the way. i had a missing item last time and it was credited back to my account straight away.
  • We had probs some time ago (now we use sainsburys) where we were told it is our responsibility to look over the order sheet if prices change, but the drivers are so rude and huff and puff while you look through the list. personally I think tesco are slowly but surely losing their monopoly and they are now resorting to these backhand tactics to increase margins.

I stopped doing my online shopping a while ago now, due to the fact that they emailed me with a £10 off voucher (minimum spend £50) and then failed to honour it when I'd received delivery (I spent £90). After a telephone call to customer services (who aren't very customer orientated - didn't seem to give a s**t) they said they would look into it and call me back. Of course, no phone call back !

I received this offer too but I am wary.

It says £10 off of your first online order and since I have shopped with them online before it won't be my first order will it?

This may be why you didn't get the discount.

I had this problem with Sainsburys a few weeks ago; I had a long email conversation with three customer services people who wouldn't budge even though their system was at fault, and eventually I told them to stick it. I won't use Sainsburys again, and have never liked Tesco, so we shop monthly at Morrison or Asda and top up with Lidl, Farmfoods and the local market. Much better, and a heck of a lot cheaper.

Nope, I checked it through. Definitely did not say 'off your first order'. I think it was because I did one shop online and then didn't place another one for a couple of months, kind of an offer to get me to shop online again.

I could't even be bothered to chase it. The money i've saved via coupons far outweighs the £10 !!! lol

i would never shop with tescos greedy company they dont care who they put out of business or trample over to get what they want. They are too large and too greedy.

Harrogate is the one place that hasnt got one and they are proud of that they dont want one.

    Hi there

Just wanted other people's advice on this one.

Tesco are driving me mad, and I will not be shopping with them again..

    Reason below!!!!

I ordered my weekly shop with Tesco and once it had been delivered (10 minutes late and with items missing as per usual), I went through the entire receipt as I normally do and noticed I had been overcharged on a pizza I bought.

It was listed at a £1 and they charged me £2.49. I emailed them to complain and they said it was their right to change the price as it was merely a guide, and I could not return the item as it was perishable.

My argument is that they should have told me about the price change when delivering the item so I had the chance to give it back - otherwise they could do this with all their items, and we could all end up paying a price for our shop that we never agreed.

Instead of doing the honourable thing and refunding me £1.49 on a £70 shop, they are refusing the budge. I have now reported them to the office of fair trading, not that I care about £1.49, but I just think they are completely in the wrong.

    Any thoughts???

    some top tips.
    • Always call 08457 225533
    • If you have missing items under £20 they will refund you NO questions asked.
    • Over £20 they will try and get them redelivered for you.
    • If you have been overcharged - be careful as some of the online prices (offer especially) can change - you would be made aware of it when placing the order as you would need to take action on the screen with red banners in front of you. But if you are sure call the number up top ^^^^
    • In my experience call them report the item as missing and they refund you on their system straight away - an email confirms this. Then the cash should be in the back in 5 days.
    • If not happy on the phone ask to speak to a Team Leader (next step up - dont ask for a manager as the people who answer the phones are called Customer Services Managers - they will then say - I am a manager!!!!!blah blah blah.....
    every little helps!!!!:T
To be able under all circumstances to practice five things constitutes perfect virtue; these five things are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness.
    Confucius
  • We use Tesco all the time for home shopping. If they are later than the 2 hour slot we get a refund on the delivery charge and if any goods are out of date (happened once) we phone them up and they give us the money back, no questions asked.

we tried Asda once when we had a flat warming party. We placed the order two weeks in advance but they phoned us up the day before and said that they had overbooked so we would have to wait another day for the stuff. We told them that we needed our order for the party but they wouldn't budge and were not helpful at all.

We ordered through Tesco and they delivered the next day! So we won't be using Asda again.
