    Re query about the boning:

Don't think it is as stiff as the ones in the shops however I do remember trying to sit down in one of them and the bones poking me in the waist. I also felt like I'd gone 6 rounds with Frank Bruno when I got home. When I tried on in the shop none of the dresses was either lace-up back or in my correct size so i can't really compare them directly. I hadn't really thought about it until now but would probably say no it's not.

I am going to have to wear a bra under my dress which I was hoping to get away without and suppose I could get stiffer bones put in if I wanted to but comfort is slightly more important to me and I can get loads of underwear for the money I have saved. It does pull me in round the middle nicely and is stiff enough to encourage me to stand up straight. It's perfect for me but might not suit everyone.

I know that the Maggie dresses have a separate corset in them which my dress doesn't.

Thanks K8te, relieved it is not just me sitting here biting my nails day after day waiting for that email, congrats on wedding, that is sooooo close you must be stressing, I am and mine is not til september.

Thanks for the info Paddingtondoo, I think if my turns up like you say yours is that would be fine, just want it to pull in my waist. when I was trying one on in the shop, it was to small for me and she pulled it so tight she winded me, I could hardly breathe lol , what we go through in the name of love, lol

I think it will also depend on who laces you up - that was just the first go and the lace is about 3 miles long so that didn't help - am having another try on when my hoop arrives so will give you another update.

I'm stressing too - I just feel like sneaking off to the local registry office in my jeans, having KFC on the way home and opening the vodka :rotfl:

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has complimented my dress. I'm very self conscious and dresses are really not me at all. (Here's to the photos not! :rotfl:)

After I'd ordered I was worried I had made a mistake and would look ridiculous. I'm waiting for my mothers comments as she is bound to say something!!!

That is exactly what I have been saying to OH lately, why did'nt we just sneak off somewhere and do it on the quiet and then just tell everyone after, but would have been difficult because we have kids.

P.S I love the KFC and Vodka idea, what a great :money: reception that would be:rotfl:

My mum will find something to moan about believe me. Everything is a problem of some sort even making a phone call to book a room lol!

She still hasn't forgiven me for moving away when I moved in with OH and still thinks sun shines out of ex's backside bless her.

You could always hold up dress with KFC and have a snack at hand :rotfl:. When I tried some on in the bridal shop I could have done with some socks as padding I don't know who they were supposed to fit.
