If you know the designer and the style number try asking her. She may be able to help and its worth a try. I'm sure she must have loads of designs available that she doesn't have listed.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

She did'nt have the dress I wanted listed, so I just sent her the link to the designers website with the dress number and she is doing it no problems.
The amount of dresses that she makes Im sure she has made copies of all the designers dresses before.0 -

I ordered a bridesmaid dress from ebay it cost me £85. I since ordered 2 more of the exact dress. The quality and fit of the dress was prefect, the dress was made to measure & the dresses are lined with a built in bust.
I am waiting on my wedding dress to arrive it cost £120 all in - you can get them much cheaper but this was the one i really wanted and there was also 5 other bidders in for it as it was not buy it now at the time. The communication was brilliant and i emailed the seller for a decription of the petticoat that was worn in the picture - and he emailed me a picture of it back. I have just emailed him to see if he can recommend a seller that has it. I also ordered my veil from another international seller and just recieved email to say its on its way - it cost £12.99 all in.
I have just recieved my guest book and pen set from the eternity collection also bought on ebay.
I am panicing abit about seeing the dress hope its how i imagine - so i will let you know when it and veil arrives.
P.s I got lovely poetry cards with our names and date of wedding made £9.99 for 500 -
I just have to add my two pence worth about wedding dresses.
I'm not getting married - did that 5 years ago - I just wore a pink suit, it wasn't a big affaire.
However, I do make dresses. I specialise is historic style gowns and ball gowns - I don't tend to go down the route of wedding dresses as it can be very stressful. But I often sell my historical ones for themed weddings.
Anyway, there are a few schools of thought about wedding dresses, one being you get what you pay for and the second being you pay to much for the quality.
An example of the latter: in my possesion at the moment is my best friends wedding dress, she's already used it, but wanted it converted into a coctail dress: http://www.beverleywedgwood.co.uk/html/romantica.html (scroll down to the bottom it's the malaga dress, and she didn't buy it from these people it's just the best pic on the web).
She paid £600 for it, and had it altered a little at the bust to fit. I said I would convert it for her as a favour as there wasn't a huge amount that really needed doing. But when it arrived and I had a closer inspection I was shocked! The seams inside the bodice (inbetween the inner and outer layers), hadn't been finished, the boning hadn't been properly shaped and strips of the plastic were sticking out, the interlining was loose at the bottom hadn't been hemmed and was fraying. The appliques were badly done, the organza backing was cut so close to the design that it was fraying, and the beads were only loosly strung (should she have caught them, they would have come off very easily), I could continue but I won't. Now she paid £600 for this dress. I honestly don't think it was worth that especially as it was factory made. Maybe £150 for the fabric and beads etc. But the mentality seem to be, why spend a lot of time finishing the dress properly if it will only be worn once.
As for ebay dresses, I sell mine on ebay and I do believe that it is a good place to buy dresses. However, often dress makers like myself are priced out from the market by overseas sellers. I can spend hundreds of hours on each dress making sure it's perfect, and I've put all my creativity and skill into it, but if I sold it for £50 I'd not only be stupid, I'd be in debt! When materials alone cost £100+ for a big dress and then the time (even at minimum wage it's still more than £50!), yet there are these sellers on ebay that can produce gowns in a factory with hundreds of workers (normally in China) who work for less than $1 a day, and are they bothered about the quality of the work produced? (probably not).
So what's left to say about the quality? BUY BRITISH!!!!!!!
Help to support the British economy by buying your wedding gown from British sellers that care about your dress as much as you do! There are plenty of dressmakers who would love to work with you to make your dress, and you may very well find some that are on ebay! I cannot guarentee that your gown will be cheaper than the highstreet, and often it will not. But you will have a gown that you will be proud to call a family heirloom.
(OK, so a hand made british gown may not be affordable for everyone - but look for british sellers first!)0 -
I just wanted an update to see if anyone else has got there dress yet and what they thought of it.
Am still waiting for mine, the wait is agonising, I'm not getting mine till the end of April, Has anyone else got there expected date, we can keep each other company in the agony:o lol
Also Paddingtondoo, would you say that the dress you got is boned in the bodice the same as the shop bought one, I know the ones I tried on in the shops were very boned and stiff and hold you in very well.0 -
I am waiting too!!!!!! And it is killing.
I was told it should be here before the 20th of April, it has been 25 days since she started making it, so really i should hear something this week, as on the ad working time is 20-30 days, i bloody hope so, the amount of times i check my email in a day is well lets say not normal, as she said she will give me the tracking number once it has been sent. But saying that then i will be trying to track it around the world, i just want it, just so i know it fits and is as good as i picture it to be. Plus my wedding is in 7 weeks 3 days  and if it isnt right, i need to get another one or alterations done!!!!
So yes please lets help each other in this agonising wait
