paddle is stuck in the breadmaker

I was pondering this today, as I went about my daily life (as we Ol' Stylers must be prone to doing) If you are not meant to soak your paddle/tin for more than 10 mins because of the damage it does, how does that stand with leaving the ingredients in and using the timer? Surely the sugary/salty/oily water will be around the paddle and bearing for hours? Or does it mean don't soak in hot and/or soapy water for more than 10 mins?
And no, Squeaky, I haven't particularly read this bit of my instruction booklet as I never have trouble pulling me paddle off0 -
I wondered about that myself. It could be the detergents attacking seals more than salty water does - though mine is water first and then all the dry ingredients so there's no salt in the water in mine - or it could be that they don't expect people to use their machine on the timer very often but might soak every time...
..or they could just be plonkersHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I have been unable to get my paddle out of my breadmaker for about 3 months  I didn't realise anyone else had this problem until I found this thread. It's my own fault really! When I initially got my breadmaker, the instructions told me to oil around the paddle so as to facilitate easy removal etc. This I did for months, but the paddle was always stuck inside the bread when I banged the loaf out. I then had to struggle to remove the paddle from inside the bread  I then thought 'Ha! leave the paddle in and stop oiling it' LOL
So, I stopped oiling the paddle and it stopped getting stuck in the bread. However, now I cannot get the paddle out
As Spike would say 'It's a viscious circle' LOL :rotfl:~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~1 -
So have you tried the soapy water and a spoon yet?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I'm glad you mentioned that, as you know my father-in-law gave me mine without instructions or recipes. I'll put some oil on as suggested. Thank you! :beer:0

I never take the paddle out of mine.I just wait till the residual bread has gone crispy around it and just break it off with my fingers.Any left behind is going to be cooked to a very high temperature anyway so should be quite bacteria free.0

I've tried all the suggestions on here (thanks everyone) but unfortunately it is stuck on. However, as people have had theirs on for 3 months, I'm less worried. I did think I might put it in the freezer and frighten it into jumping off - it's not scared of boiling water or oil.0

What comes out 3 hours later is not a pretty site.
I did it again last night... despite my daughter sticking a post-it note to remind me on the lid. Woke up to the aroma of baking bread but a tinful of hot/soggy flour.
I'm looking forward to my paddle getting stuck! If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0 -
