I would like some more info on how long you can safely use it for each factor. If anyone has any links, please post them.
For instance, is factor 50 from last year still good enough to use in this country for kids playing out etc and how much per year does it deteriorate?
I have this vague idea I read somewhere it lost 10% effectiveness per year once opened, and that you shouldn't use it after three years because it started to seperate out.
I also definately recall reading somewhere that 95% of folk basically don't use enough sunscreen per application, or reapply it often enough. Working on this principle it's probably better to buy reduced bottles of a higher factor than you would normally (if it's going out of code) because then you won't be tempted to skimp because of the cost.
The Soltan factor 50 & 30 I bought at £1.00 per bottle Plus BOGOF this year was only on reduction because the packaging is being changed , not because it was going out of date, btw. At 50p per bottle, I can afford to slap in on pretty lavishly, so definately a bargain.Val.0 -

Boots do have some useful information coming out later this year on suncare issues such as this, so watch out for it!
But in the meantime, there's a symbol on the back of all skincare/shampoo etc bottles that tells you how long it lasts after opening. It's a small round-ish symbol with a lid (very crap description!) and inside it has a number followed by M - e.g 6M or 24M. This indicates how many months it will last. So if you've had a bottle of factor 50 that's been opened since last year and the bottle has 12M on the back of it, you can safely use it for up to a year after opening.
I'm sure sometimes the shelf-life on products does last longer - e.g. I use moisturisers for longer than it says on the product guidelines. But with suntan products it's best not to take the risk and stick to the guidelines to ensure you're getting the maximum amount of protection.0 -
I haven't read the rest of the thread so I don't know if anyone has answered you. I think the 17 Even Tone Corrector Cream is the green coloured base that you put under foundation to disguise redness in the cheeks.
Ah, I didn't realize that. I don't use foundation, so I'll skip the 17 cream.0 -
The S & G steamy showers sets were reduced to £7.50 in belfast city centre branch today :j The accessorize hat boxes are also half price but IMO still aren't worth the money.
BTW Has anyone managed to use the pink £5 voucher and highlighter voucher in he same transaction in any n. ireland stores? I have been refused so far and really want a highlighter before the offer ends.
The ACM wouldn't give me any offers today either so i decided no to get he expert scar serum- will try again tomorrow hopefully. x:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -

Hope you've all had a great day's shoppingx

I initially used this offer sucessfully when BES was on half price and the voucher took off half the original price so you got the item free and 1p off your shopping. Having tried several times in several stores for the baby wipes glitch (and failed) i studied my vouchers (kindly donated by several ladies off here after my handbag was stolen). I have noticed there are 2 different barcodes so am wondering if it only works with a particular voucher. Will try other voucher and see if that works as DD1 needs some wipes (we get thro hundreds i think). Wondered if this is why its not working for everyone.
On a positive note went to Trafford Centre yesterday, armed with said donated vouchers and got:-
No7 Dream lash mascara
Illum powder
GWP
100 points
used £5 off no7 pink and £5 off no7 pc, SA said it won't take both but asked her to try it and it worked so i paid 50p
Went to another till and got the same again but only had pink voucher so paid £5.50 but still happy.
Cheered me up after my burglar so thanks to anyone who donated to me.
LOL
Yup, checked today it does appeat to be the barcode, the one thats NOT scanning is:-
2 063436 032593
sorry i didn't get the code of the one that IS scanning. But i got 2 x BES sensitive wipes £2.39 - £1.20 so 60p a packet. Don't know if thats as good a bargain as some have got. ACM not working but the think the 100 WYB BES extra points not on anymore.:kisses2:Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. IMPORTANT - P&P SETS
I was talking to my favourite No7 SA today and asking her why she hadn't had any P&P sets in, as she was losing out, she is in a big store.
She said she had been asked many times for them and had rang head office to ask why they hadn't had them. She was told that only the big stores were getting them, but she is in a big store.
The person at her head office said she couldn't understand why they hadn't had any. So she asked if she could order some.
She was told that she couldn't order any as they had only had limited stock of them - hence why its only the bigger stores that got them, and they have now run out and have got no more to send out to shops.
So if your local store tells you they are expecting more in, unless they have been already been packed and are waiting to be sent out to them, it is unlikely that they will be getting them.
So buy them when you see them.

Can't stop, I've got the mother of all headaches, but thank you so much for explaining what that symbol meant. I can finally get around to throwing away, (or storing!) some of the wild and wonderful lotions I've bought recently, and not so recently lol
Hope you've all had a great day's shoppingx
That is the time from when the product was opened. So if it hasn't been opened and no air has got to it, it should still be perfectly ok.0 -
I decided to buy this yesterday instead of the Hand Saviour, because it was a lot more for the money (lol).
My hands get rough when I do gardening, although I do regularly use hand cream.
I have to say how good I thought the Cocooning balm was. I put some on my hands last night and they felt so soft this morning, better than when I have used normal hand cream, even Total Effects.
Obviously it is meant not only for hands.0
