She was prob just afraid that you'd say she messed up. Some of the comments on these surveys can be embarrassing as a print out of them go up on the wall in the staff area for everyone to read...a positive one and a negative one. I had a lady say something along the lines of "Orlaith helped me make the most of my £5 voucher and was very cheery in doing so, it was quite obvious that she was delighted to have served me" I don't know if that is sarcasm or not tho lol.
Hi Orlaith(Morning all
)
After reading that, I'm not surprised that some SA's appear to be bored/apathetic/dismissive etc etc. What a way for Boots to treat their staff - those notice boards seem like an underhand way of naming and shaming certain members of staff  The girl that snaffled (lol) my survey offer, actually did look flustered and worried when it rolled out - and I can understand why now. I really wouldn't have said anything unkind about her, but people can only take my word for that.
The first time I received one, well, the only time I've received one after that one was snaffled lol, happened when I was overcharged for an item. I noticed it a few seconds after going through the till, the shop was busy so a till that wasn't in use was opened for me, and another SA rectified the overcharge for me. It took a few minutes, but it's very rare that I'm in a hurry, so I had no complaints, apart from the layout of the shop lol. But now it makes me wonder if those survey spits occur when there has been some sort of mix-up? And if I'd had a whinge about it in a survey, which SA would I have been commenting on, the one that rectified the mistake, or the one that created it?
Madness lol, so no need to answer that part
I often say that life's too short to spend it whinging and complaining, and it isbut I've just caught up with other posts.
I had a similar experience as Lemony - see post no 1647, except it happened to my OH whilst I was with him, and about which I complained in detail to CS, and received 1,000 AC points, which was neither here nor there to me.
But believe me Orlaith, if the till had dished out a survey spit on that occasion, I wouldn't have hesitated to let rip, and Boots would have needed a VERY big notice boardMy complaint took me two hours to write! ...lol.

Hi,
Can I return the following (without a receipt):-
**Boots Expert Teeth Whitening Programme** (It's in a white box -it's still unopened)
My brother bought it about 3 weeks ago - He spends too much and buys things he'll NEVER USE!! He doesn't want to use it now and was going to throw it away!!! Hopefully I can exchange it without a receipt instore??? - or is this product classed as 'medicine/pharmacy' (non-returnable???)
Hope someone can helpX0 -
Thanks Broclo and Valk_scot. [snipped]
Lemony, hiAs others have suggested, sit down, take a deep breath, and get that complaint voiced, or written down in an email. I can't believe that a very similar thing that happened to my OH, and me indirectly, has happened to you.
Get it off your chest, you'll feel a lot betterGood luck

OMG! I am really upset about what happened to me in Boots today.
I went into Boots and purchased:
1x No7 Illum face powder
1x No7 Eye make up remover
1x No7 Shimmering highlighter set (half price)
1x GWP (No7)
1x Magazine (free with advantage card)
I used the Illum voucher, pink £5 off voucher and 250 points voucher and paid £7.50. The GWP wouldn't scan but the SA said it was fine and let me have it.
I did this transaction again in exactly the same way (my boyfriend was with me so there were two of us) with the same SA and it all went through fine. So far so good.
Then I purchased:
1x No7 Tan Wipe
1x No7 Illum face powder
1x Magazine (free with advantage card)
I used the Illum voucher and was charged 50p!
I went upstairs and did the same again.
Then I went downstairs and sat on the step to tear the vouchers out of the magazines that I was given with my purchases. While I was sat on the step the SA from upstairs walked past. My boyfriend said she was watching me but I said I had nothing to hide as they had scanned the magazines and given them to me. We then went to another till with a tan wipe and an Illum voucher (as above) but when I got to the till a very rude manager (I think she was a manager because she was wearing a suit) came over and said:
"You have been seen buying those items at the till over there, and at the till upstairs and it's only one per customer".
I said "Oh I'm sorry, I thought it was one per transaction".
She then changed her story and said "No it's one per advantage card"
My boyfriend then said "Ok we'll leave it then thanks" and we hurried out of the shop.
I was upset because the woman said it in a very rude way in front of other customers and I was made to feel like a criminal! Plus, I was actually with my boyfriend so in effect we only had one offer each anyway! My boyfriend said he saw the manager on the phone before she marched over to us and he thinks the SA upstairs reported us!
Well, I'm happy with the offers I got, and I didn't want to cause a fuss. But I do take offence to being spoken to rudely just for using a voucher, and for being told a load of old rubbish!!! First I was told 'one per customer' but it says 'one per transaction' on the voucher. Then I was told it's only 'one per advantage card'. I know this isn't true because anyone can buy the magazines for £1 and you don't have to use an advantage card at all! She took the voucher off me which I felt was rude because she didn't know whether I'd paid for a magazine or not. I know I was taking advantage of some really good offers today, but let's face it, I still spent £17 in Boots when I normally wouldn't have shopped there. Plus, what is the point of an advantage card if they don't let you take advantage of the offers anyway (last week they wouldn't let me use an extra points voucher because I got a GWP)?
I'd be interested to hear what other Bootsters think about this?

I've had similar experiences (not as bad as yours) when I'm convinced a store detective was following me because I went to 3 different tills. How ridiculous ! It put me off going to Boots for weeks. (Which is why I haven't got many highlighters!!!). Their loss, however, because I always spend a good few extra quid in there (and whoever I'm with does as well).
Hope you don't let it ruin your Bootsing - go in with your head held high. x0 -

I can see why neither you, nor I, personally had any confidence when using the highlighter voucher
But fwiw, I had a similar experience whilst waiting for my OH to stop dithering (shopping). I was waiting by the exit, which is near a stand for the precious P&P lol, and I spotted a SA nod to a store detective, and then nod in my direction! It wasn't even subtle, but because I was near the door, and sunlight, my reactolite specs had kicked in, and I suspect she thought I couldn't see! I'm laughing about it now, but I was furious.
I'm not sure why I was furious - I'm soooo used to it by now I should be laughing

Sorry if the answer is already in the thread but can anyone confirm whether the highlighter voucher, 250 pts from GWP and/or £5 off No 7 work with No 7 electrical products (specifically the trimmer and eyelash curler)? Or is it one of those depends on till/store/SA things? TIA'In penguins and pearls we'll drink and we'll dance, 'til the end of our days, 'cause it ain't left to chance that we win...'0

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so unnerving !!!! In Store Detective School they must teach them that: 'dark glasses = shifty' lol. Or in my case: 'bright red cheeks = shifty'.:rotfl:0 -

I think it's awful that the lady was so rude about it, and you may want to complain about her. She was way out of line to act that way. But, well, the thing is that they could easily not let us have even one of these offers where we combine coupons because the coupons do say they can't be used with any other offer. And while the coupons don't say a person can get only one free highlighter, the SAs do have the power to deny you additional freebies (whether they should or not), the same way they can decide to let you use several coupons together. Doing several transactions in one trip in the same store could easily rouse the ire of some store workers, which will make it harder for you to combine coupons later and get more than one freebie, and also maybe harder for others to do it, too. I'm not trying to slam you for doing it at all, and I absolutely love a bargain, too. But if we go overboard taking advantage of glitches we do run the risk of the SAs saying "no more." And it could end up meaning that Boots finally wises up and puts an end to it all by finally putting in a clear policy on coupon usage and reprogramming the tills.0 -

You don't get all the offers that are instore online but similarly you don't get all offers online instore, for example you don't get 500 points when spending £50 nor are you able to use extra points/MOC codes. Therefore I think they are unlikely to honour it. Hope that makes sense.
Whilst writing, does anyone else have the S&G lip gloss (sexy mother pucker I think it is)? This makes my lips go all tingly, just wanted to check thats how it is and not just me? Although, I have been using the S&G shower wash stuff and have since come out in eczema, I hope I'm not allergic! Especially as I'm waiting for a .com delivery of righteous butter!
Funnily enough when you say that i was reading the back of my steamy showers packaging and it says, ill quote 'our now famous super-plumping lip gloss, delivers a define and some report rather titillating tingling sensation on the lips approximately sixty seconds after application.' Haha titillating :rotfl: I must check and see if it has one third off too!!! Haha titillating!!!
