AnW'sMum - I had that book as a birthday pressie this week but have not started it yet

Just looked at the calendar for this week and I have heaps on so flying will be a maintenance job on the whole. I have flown well this week so that should not be a problem - just going to need more hours in the day.

Off to bed, might invite OH as it is sheet change day tomorrow

    Debt-free and Proud!
Just found this thread, if no one minds I would like to join in please. I'm terrible for putting house work tasks off or finding something else to do! Must improve as moved house a month ago and now have more rooms to clean as moved from a flat to a house.

OH on nights tonight and tomorrow so won't be able to do anything in the bedroom and landing until after I have finished work (work from home) but I will do as much as possible tomorrow.

    Have a nice Monday everyone

  • Hello everybody - well it has taken me since last Tuesday to read all 52 pages of last week's thread and you're already on page 3 here.

Just want to say what an amazing thread - i've had a stab at most days since last week and the house looks amazing for it. It's funny but, you do your cleaning week-in, week-out and you simply do the same old things - thanks for pointing out that I have a fire alarm on the landing - I would never have thought to check that - you ladies may have just saved my life! LOL

Another thing I've noticed is because there are less hotspots, I'm more inclinded to do more wiping around.

Honestly, in many years of owning a house, it has never looked as good as it has done in the last 5 days.

    Cheers girls xxxx

StressedSteph - I so know where you are coming from with the two at home and yet no time thing . I have a 4 year old at school so we have to oncorporate a school run ortwo into each day, a 3 year old who tnakfully does some preschool sessions, and a 5 month old baby who doesnt know that she's supposed to nap in the day. I don't tend to play a whole lot with the kids but they have got very good at finding things to do. Excpet the beby clearly LOL. I don't know how you fit in work as well. I start back to work 3 days in May and not sure what wil happen then. I find keeping on top of it all really hard. Had a complete meltdown about it last week in fact, so probably shouldnt be advising anyone else!

So this week I am going to follow the flying list in terms of which room to do but I am just going to do what really needs done. I've been flying on and off now for over a tear though only been on here about maybe 9 months. The house has gradually got more organised just by doing a bit at a time.

I do a quick whiz round tidying upstairs every morning and a quick whiz roundtidying each evening once the kds are in bed. 10 minutes each tops. I keep on top of laundry by putting a wash on most days and putting it away in the evening. I keep the kitchen fairly clean all the time. The beds dont necessarily get changed each week and the towels dont necessairly get washed each week. Nor do the bathrooms get done each week. The bedrooms and front room are dusted each week and I go round with a feather duster. I try to hoover once a week and generally whizz round the whole house fast as I can once the hoover is out.

I cook from scratch as well and try to cook double portions so I can freeze some so I only really have to cook half the time IYSWIM.

I suppose in short I am saying do a little each day but prioritise - food on the table and clean clothes sre more important than a dusted mantlepiece etc.

Its immensely frustrating though. I think of all the things I want to do and only manage to do about a tenth of them.
