I like using hand wash rather than soap at the handbaisin - t*sco own brand as it doesn't smell on your hands - but the dispenser squeezes out too much so I wrap a rubber band around the tube so it doesn't go down so much and less comes out!
Actually it was the missus' idea but I don't mind taking the credit

Don't waste money on fancy clips for sealing (food) bags / packets, or if you get annoyed with the little twisty ties that come with food bags....just use pegs.
You get more for your money (50 pegs cost the same as 6 clips), they're usually stronger than the clips, and you can use as many as you need to seal different sized packets.0 -

Pegs or elastic bands all the way round here, I didn't even know you could buy special fancy clips for it...
And if it's a bag you cut open, e.g. frozen peas, just cut a strip along the full length of the edge to open it, then use the strip to tie it up.0 -
To remove labels from jars (if reusing them), nail varnish remover on a cotton wall bobble gets rid of those pesky half ripped bits of label.0

When you take of your duvet cover, pull it so it turns inside out. After it is washed it is easier to put on the duvet again if inside out. Put your hands into the two corners furthest away from the opening, grasp two corners of the duvet throught the cover and flip inside out. an idea I've seen but not tried is to sew lengths of ribbon into the corners of the cover and on the duvet. When they are tied together the duvet will stay inplace inside the cover very well and the flipping bit is easier too.
Peeling butternut squash and chopping it up is hard when raw. Chop it into smaller chunks then cook till soft, it is a lot easier to skin then. NB, wash the skin first before slicing into it.

Before binning empty plastic drinks bottles cut the top off about 4 inches from the cap (I use a bread knife) Push the top of your food bag up through the wide bit, fold the plastic bag over the screw bit then put the top back on. I do this with bags of peanuts, crackers, crisps etc it keeps them air tight and stops spillage.
I use the other part of the bottle to freeze gravy, stock etc, when it's frozen dip the bottle in warm water, the block of frozen liquid will slide out easily to pop in a freezer bag. When it's needed just slide it out of the bag again leaving the bag clean for another use.
I have lots of keys on my key ring and got fed up of having to try several before finding the right one for my front door so I painted the round bit of the key with red nail varnish. Taa Daa no more fumbling.0 -
Put a pet ID tube, with your mobile telephone number (NOT your address!) on the slip of paper inside, on your keyring.
My ex-wife left her keys in a local Post Office, and they rang her before she realised that she'd lost her keys.If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Chilli powder. What's the point of mild chilli powder? Buy hot chilli powder and, if you want a mild curry, use less.If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?
