From what I have read your daughter sounds like she is in recovery from AN and good on her its a horrible illness for the sufferer and their family.
Keep an eye out for her especially with the potential stress of OH and a house sale, as there is currently a lot of research that suggests eating disorders can be trans diagnostic, ie, a patient may present with AN, but go on to develop BN or EDNOS etc
If you or your daughter need some telephone or email support/advice dont hesitate contact beat0 -
rose28454 just wanted to send some (((hugs))) to you. I think that you seem to have a very sensible head on your shoulder and it is lovely to see that your daughter wants to spend time with you.
Sorry about your OH but you are right you do need to look after yourselves. ((hugs))) again.January Grocery 11/3740 -
Rose, so sorry you're in the position that you are but I'm really glad you're looking at moving on. Your husband's behaviour is bound to be impacting on your health and you've already identified that it is also affecting the rest of the family. I think it's the only thing you can do....good luck.0

Hello Rose,
I'm glad you and your daughter have been having some fun together (you can't beat a bit of Lost!). You have made a really brave decision to move forward with your life, and in doing so, you are also enabling your daughter to do the same, as well as showing her that you can pick yourself up and move on no matter how difficult life may seem to be.
FWIW, I was widowed at the age of 37 when my husband died from the effects of his alcoholism. I lost my house because our life insurance would not pay out for self-inflicted death. If you stay put and wait for the inevitable to happen you could be in a far worse state of affairs. I have had to pick up the pieces of our life with 4 very young dependent children, but it can be done, and life does get better.
Stay strong, and good luck! One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
You must be so proud of your daughter Rose. I can understand your worry, i am sure you are more worried that she will start to dislike herself again and the weight she has put on will kick start the ED again. It will always be in her mind already, she will be totally aware of the pounds but for the first time in years it will be a sign of freedom. I know people who are up and down a stone or two, it takes over there lives, they hate being that stone over weight and have a terrible diet of starving themselves then binging. Your daughter sounds very strong and happy right now and is very lucky to have a mum like you. Good luck with the house and new life.0

My parents once said to me that by long term boyfriend (at the time I was 17 or 18 now my hubby) would not want to go out with me if i kept putting on weight! I have always had issues with my weight and that is the ONE thing I would never ever say to my daughter. I even hate my MIL saying that she is going on a diet and that she is fat in front of my daughter. I have been a yo-yo dieter all my life and do not want my daughter to end up the same way.
I would encourage your daughter to perhaps go to an exercise class or swimming by saying that you yourself are wanting to get fit and would love her to come with you and spend time together.
Hope you get on okay0 -
