Ah. Well, your biggest problem wasn't the ticket (which you could have got replaced), it was entrusting your passport to the postal service (any postal service) shortly before going away. Why on earth... ah well, water under the bridge...But as a result of that delay (because the parcel contained my passport as well) I missed a flight which cost me a £700 ticket
It would be worth making a claim for the ticket (which was a piece of paper with a value, so I don't think the lack of consequential loss insurance will matter) and seeing what happens.0
