The co-op do this - they'll credit check you quickly then offer the cashminder evn (I understand) if you directly apply for the cashminder. It's so they can offer you better status accounts and products but, despite what you want ;)

You will receive your PINs and savings card during the next five working days - these will be sent separately for security. If you do not receive these within five working days, simply call the Account Opening Team on 0800 00 88 00 (between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday), quoting your application reference number xxxxxxxx and we will be happy to help.

looks fine to me, ive known account numbers to only be 8 as well, i was wondering why natwest didnt tell you that you could apply for a step up account myself if you failed their credit check, youve had quite alot of credit checks in so few days it seems too x

I've never been asked to provide ID on any of my bank account applications.

Reason being most of the time they can perform electronic internal checks, electoral checks, fraud checks and credit checks based on the information you provided.

If they didn't I certainly wouldn't have half the bank accounts I have as I wouldn't trail about the high street providing it :D

Yeah, I've applied for some accounts online too and its all been good. In regards to the 10 digit account number, I remember A&L doing a similar thing when I had an account with them but I dropped the first number when quoting the account number to other companies as it was 9 digits... I think! :s
