have you returned all the dvds that you had sent out?

  • Ice, you are not the only one that has suffered with the less than honest crowd at Lovefilm. It is such a shame that everybody doesn't make a point of searching around on-line for feedback about companies (me included) before dealing with them as this would reveal the experience of other customers.

I posted some step-by-step instructions on how to deal with Lovefilm from my own experience in a previous thread about them, where you can read the woes of many other unhappy customers - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=353408

I paid by credit card rather than DD, but they are very clever and you can be almost certain that you will have to use whatever you paid them as they refuse to give money back and unless you have the proper papertrail to prove to the bank they had been informed of cancellation. The bank can't get past their T & C's either.

Maybe it is different with DD guarantee, but they are a sharp lot and in my opinion don't deserve customers. Having had repeated offers from them to join again and get 3 months free I have simply not felt the hassle of dealing with them was really worth it.

I wonder if they have ever thought how much less they would have to spend on advertising if they kept their customers happy and relied on word of mouth (the positive kind) instead.

BTW I have found that our local library lends out DVDs for a week at a time for a very small charge and even the local DVD shop now have a wide selection of movies you can keep for a week for a very small rental. Consider supporting the local companies and leave the dishonest ones like Lovefilm well alone.

thanks...yes I am regretting not doing a search now...they have had £14.99 3 time's off me now since 25th January I feel so helpless really but now that the bank are aware of this company and me telling them in writing not to pay them another penny...it's not a DD it's goes through as a purchase although I haven't given them permission to do this I have also reported them to ofcom and trading standards and watchdog we will see if anything else happen's I just want them to stop taking money as the account was cancelled on 14th February the only other thing I can think of is to say my card was stolen and get another card then they can't keep using the other card...
I used yahoo to email them...so still have all the email's as my outlook isn't up and running...
