I would be inclined to uninstall Norton and install avg free version at https://www.grisoft.com. If that doesn't help you could always install Norton again.0

Thanks very much0

No E Bay or gmail now, yet other sites working. Could uninstall Norton now as recommended, but reluctant as I've paid for it.
Thanks again0 -

Thanks
Party, have a look in Tools, then Account Settings. At the top it gives Account Settings click on that and here it shows your POP setting. First bit says Server Type mine says POP Mail Server, then it gives the setting.

Party, there is a thread here about NTL Broadband not supporting Microsoft Outlook.
Not a lot of help in it yet but might be worth your while to go back to NTL and check that they do support Thunderbird?
Funnily enough I am with Tesco bb and that is provided by NTL but I have not had any problems0 -
Thanks EG I've used Thunderbird and NTL together for ages until last week. Now I can't use Google or E Bay either. I'm fed up so I'm going for a few beers.
Thanks again.0
