  • Hi :D
I'm new (on the forum) :embarasse
I am glad that i am not the only person that has yet to win

In fact i have never won anything....ever...sob! and it's not for that fact of not trying either!

My husband and i have started entering competitions in earnest as we have had a really bad two years and are totally skint with no hopes of it changing for a while, and the ever wonderful HSBC chasing after us for money:mad: , in fact it feels like everyone is after us for money :rolleyes2 lol
and what is more annoying is, we owe such a tiny amount, (total £2500) that when you ask for help from places they say no cause our debt isnt enough!!! but it is such a lot to us! as we dont have it!

we have never even had a "date" together as in go out for a evening or a honeymoon! :(

so I'm trying to win us one! :smileyhea

any way that my sad story!!! :rotfl:
 BIG Thank you to Competition posters & the person who created the "entered" button!

I owe a few bob too (!!!) & my darling really lovely husband has no idea because I am daft bat & have spent way too much trying to keep kids, family happy and create a home that I love and am proud of. So I am on here too DESPERATELY trying to win stuff too! Anything would be great-mini eggs would go down a treat right now....Good luck to you!

Yes, deffo have a separate email addy for comps and related spam, click the "thanks" button to keep track of what you've entered, and download roboform to save yourself the constant typing! These are the three things I wish I'd done from the beginning. I have been much luckier than I thought I would be - had 4 wins so far and started comping in December. The latest was a £2000 sony lcd home entertainment system I won today! So definitely worth plugging away at IMO.
2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher

Took 3 mths for first win, 3 finger puppets worth all of £1.50. felt disheartened. Then mascara & another, not cheap. Olay definity £25, so appreciated, needed. Each month something else, £10-£15 value, at 6 mths, tickets twice, £50-£60 value, 8 mths-Jan £150 beef. Best ever win. I enter about 50 comps a day,not cds or dvds, not fer me, (loads of potential wins there).

There is always the Biggie. If u Not In U Cant Win. Proved so many times on here.

I think it is down to 2 things - luck & actually entering :) Also, I tend to see this as more of a fun hobby than trying to enter comps as a 2nd job - keeps it fun & worth doing. I am also sometimes rolling around with laughter at reading some of the comp threads as we do tend to have quite a laugh along with comping.

It can take a while for the comps you are entering to get around to their closing dates & actually be drawn. Then factor in that some companies are quite slow in notifying the winners & some don't notify at all, just send the prizes out as a surprise.

I enter all the comps that I would like to win the prizes for. Don't enter for tickets to anything as that isn't really something I would want & I'd rather leave it for someone else who does want it :)
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out
  • Persistence is definitely the key, as most people are saying.

I've not won anything that will change my life (yet - but ever hopeful), but have won around 500 quid's worth of stuff in 6 months, which I think is good going for something I do while watching the dire offerings on TV at 1 in the morning.

Good luck and hope you start to see some prizes rolling in soon.

hi, keep at it, you will win something eventually and it might just be a biggie

Im usually very unlucky as in if there was only me and another person in a raffle with 3 tickets each, there 3 would get picked out to win, so ive been pleasantly suprised with the wins ive had on here

i enter a lot of them but only the ones i would want to win

So keep trying your turn will come
    Growing old is inevitable
    Growing up is optional
