Think I've got a similar problem to the above.
I have a 2001 Ford Mondeo (Mk 3) with 115K on the clock. I am getting a rumbling noise and slight vibration with the clutch engaged in first gear at idle. As I increase the revs and start to let the clutch out it gets slightly louder (at the biting point) and then dissappears as i accelerate and then go through the gears. I have no problems selecting any gears either whilst stationary or driving along.
Any advice greatly recieved before I bite the bullet and ring the garage please. If we can just hit the Bullseye - these dominos should fall like a house of cards - Checkmate !0 -
I had a similiar problem in a Renault Megane (50k on clock) and it vibrated, gradually getting worse but only at standstill. It has now happened to me 3 times and its been a coil each time. It costs about £100-150 to fix labour and parts - I have one left out of the 4 that hasnt gone yet, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Apparently its pretty common with Renaults.0
