PAC on PAYG
Hi,
I am currently using a 3 sim card on PAYG. I want to move from my 3 network sim card on to a o2 PAYG.
Can I get a PAC code from my 3 PAYG number and transfer it to another PAYG number on a different network(o2)?
In other words can you move between PAYG networks and keep your mobile number.
Thanks

hi
there ring three ask them for your port authorisation code they will more than likely put you through to there retention team to try and stop you from leaving. once you have obtained your pac code ring o2 you will need to have an o2 sim with temp number. o2 will then port your number from 3 to o2 which normally takes five working days 6 if mnp is hammered!!
you can transfer your exsisting number anywhere as long as you have a pac. your pac will expire thirty days after it has been issued
hope this helps

If it is possible, I would advise you to think twice before keeping a Three3 number. The simple reason Three3 numbers are charged well over 25p per minute during the day from a landline!!
Even when you transfer the number to another network, BT will still charge you at the rate of the network which originally registered the number!0 -

This is not strictly correct, although the losing network is required to issue a pac to you, there is no requirement for the recieving network to accept the transfer of your no..See my warning posting here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=73346
Eg. Virgin will not accept pac,s from 3. Suggest you check with o2 and see what they say.Let us know how you get on.PF.0 -
fair comment pricefighter it would be in the best interests of a network to gain customers not turn them away. as far as im aware anyone that has a pac code could port to o2 as they have not been refused in the past four years regardless of what network they have come from!!
cannot comment on any other network so my comment should of been worded more carefully.0
