Tesco 5p off petrol when you spend £50

What's the Deal?

If you spend £50 in Tesco before 24 February, whether online or in store, you'll currently receive a voucher for 5p off per litre of petrol, diesel or LPG.

What do I need to do?

Just spend over £50 and the voucher should be printed out with your receipt. If you don't get one, ask a member of staff. The voucher can be easy to miss, especially if you've used the self scan tills.

To use it, just hand over the voucher when you next fill up provided it's within 14 days (check your voucher for its validity date).

Any other terms and conditions?

In store you won't get the voucher on purchases made in Tesco Direct, cafes, petrol stations, and tobacco kiosks, nor when the money's spent on the Lottery, gift vouchers, stamps, glass hire, nutricentre, prescription medicines, infant
formula and fireworks.

When your spend's online you'll only get the voucher if its via the grocery part of the site.

The 5p off voucher is valid on a maximum of 100 litres per voucher, and can't be used when you've opted to pay at the pump - plus there's no second chance to get the cash off, so don't forget to use it!

The promotion's not on at Tesco Expresses or in the Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Brigg, Porthmadog,
Rawtenstall, Consett, Market Weighton or Calais.

I don't know what other peoples' experiences are of this offer in the past but my local Tesco charges at least 5p per litre more to begin with than the nearby Shell and B.P garages.

After last years escapade with dodgy petrol, I wouldn't buy petrol from Tesco's at any price, not worth the risk.;)

At least 5p a litre more at Tesco?

Shell & BP at least 5p a litre less?

    Which Tesco is that then?

Maybe I'm being too cynical towards Tesco but I'm sure their petrol seems to be more expensive when these promotions are on. Anyone else found this?

I bought petrol at Asda, Govan, Glasgow this morning and it was 99.9p, again best price in ages.
Thanks to all the competition posters.
  • I spent £97 yesterday, used the self scan and the assistant folded up my reciept and handed it to me, it was only when I got home I remembered about the petrol & looked in my purse where the receipt was & I didn't get a 5p voucher! I rang CS and they said there is nothing they can do! (I didn't even mention it was self scan) I've rung my store all day and no answer, any suggestions??
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!
