The best thing I can advise is to read around a little first to get an idea of what makes a good review. Also, rating other people's reviews will get more people to come over and view yours which earns you more points. When I first joined someone mentioned not 'churning' so I don't write more than 2 a day. If you do, people won't bother reading your reviews and you won't be popular!

There's a referral scheme that's been set up this month. You can invite friends from the my account section using the my invitations tab on the left to earn some extra points. I've posted a bit about this on the referrers board if anyone is looking at signing up.

Hopefully I'll be reading your reviews soon!

Just thought I would update you all re: why my review wasn't posting. Apparently I had a URL that was too long, so as soon as I took it off there was no problem. Panic over!

What is it with people over there who read reviews but don't bother to rate them? I've had one member who has sent me messages to basically complain that I didn't put in all the info he wanted... most of which I left out because it was already there in lights in the item spec at the top of the page! Then on the first review he gave me a poor rating and on the second, where I had included all the info he complained about previously, he gave me no rating at all.

Sorry to rant. Maybe I just don't 'get' that site.

Is anybody having problems getting vouchers atm?
My first one came through before the 5 day limit but the second one I sent for has taken over a week now and I'm just a bit curious as to whether I should e-mail them or not or if they just have a big backlog.

I'm guilty as charged unmaginative_one. I get so confused on there and lost when it comes to who i'm rating for what.
Another problem I have is Dooyoo doesn't like me, I have days when the 'rating box' - i.e where you click to rate, doesn't show up (like this morning it wouldn't!) - I do try to leave notes on my main page though when things like that happen so people know.
Still - I haven't been great at rating back - I promise i'll try and get better!!

Don't worry Sophie. you weren't even one of the unnamed ones!! I've noticed it's not been logging a lot of my ratings today. I think you need to leave it a few seconds to register before you come out of the review otherwise it doesn't register.

It's not that it doesn't log, it's that there is nothing to click to rate it! The 4 green boxes aren't there!
Also, I sometimes get asked a popup question from microsoft about running 'scripts' and if I want to cancel them as they're making my comp slow, I said yes once and I couldn't rate for days!
Argh!

T&C says 10 working days, I wouldn't email till after that....maybe they are inundated with all us new MSE-ers!

Someone said you don't get 500 points for a discussion type review - only for reviewing products. Can someone please point me to where I can find this info on the site? I think they should make it clearer - when I wrote a discussion review I still got the message that if it was over 150 words it would qualify for 500 points. And now I've been told that's not true, I'm trying to find more info and I can't find anything!

I'd also like to know what points you get for reviewing a business?
