I've bought no end of stuff from TKMaxx, they do sell the same things in their stores (I've been in that many how sad) but there are load of shops that aren't well maintained and look like dumps!

Have bought numerous pairs of shoes, tops, a lovely evening dress for a posh do cost £30. Love rummaging in the household section, have had some nice cutlery sets £10 a set, kitchen gadgets, cushions, towels, scales, toiletries. All with designer names on them or an otherwise nice finish.

You do need to go back often as it changes so frequently, one week load of rubbish another week so much stuff I have to put some back as don't want to go too mad.

My sister works for them and says they're forever reducing stuff with the red stickers and put them out in batches.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:
  • Clothes are no good for me as have !!!!!! size of a rhino, but love the housey things, its like a posh jumble sale!!

I've never seen or even heard of one, till last week. They are opening one at the Lewisham shopping centre. My son pointed it out and said his girlfriend 'Just LOVES that shop'.
If she thinks its good, I just know I'm going to like it. She's a natural money saver!

I've never actually found anything in there to buy. The kids clothes are normally naff....the womens clothes are so far off what i'd normally wear I don't bother looking, the mens stuff isn't DH taste either.

I always look at the household stuff but again - it's either not my taste or I could get it cheaper elsewhere. Kids toys seem to be either the same price as elsewhere or slightly dearer.

I suppose it depends on the store and the stock and what you're after but I can honestly say if it closed tomorrow I'd probably not notice for at least a year.

I completely agree. I don't know what all the fuss is about. My mum loves it in there and always drags me in there for hours.

I just get so bored trying to entertain myself by looking at clothes and shoes that are a bit rubbish.

I am baffled. Sure there are rubbish clothes in there - but there are also some great designer label clothes for silly prices. You didn't find anything?. I have had 2 pairs of trainers (Airwalk and Rockport) for £15 each, £20 levis and a Strellson Jacket (£145 on the web) for £50...so nice I'll show you a piccy

Waterproof, packable and yet pretty stylish. Most importantly very, very well made. I didn't put this one down I can tell you!

I think that some of the shops do vary. We have a lovely one in Leeds but the one in a new centre, I think called Brent Cross Business Park, (not the 25 year old Brent Cross Shopping Centre) in London had a totally different type of very cheap-looking clothes.
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

Got to be the best store around, even for us over 40's.
Been buying some superb household stuff at really silly prices.
Quality smelly candles in jars for £2-3 each reduced from goodness knows what.
These will make great Xmas prezzys.
Great lamps for hanging around the decking on a summers(ha-ha) evenings.
Just keep looking out for the little red stickers, got some all leather trainers for £9 quid reduced from £70 a few weeks ago. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/newreply.html?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=751404#

I adore this store, but does anyone know which is the best in the North West of England?
