  • Calder financial are to do with Barclaycard.

This was the chain of events, the first company who took over the debt were alliance one, american people I think, they truely were horrible,They did on one occassion say that it was important to pay the debt before I died...!!!
I set up a £20 a week repayment with them all confirmed in writing.
Next I got very worrying letters from moorcroft debt recovery..but they stopped, then I got a letter from BC saying calder financial were taking over.
I wrote to CF asking for a statement of how much I owed and if I could pay a full and final settlement..no reply..I wrote again..today I had a reply saying that if I do not ring them and sort out a debt management plan they will take me to court.
I have written back again enclosing a photocopy of Alliance ones agreement and again requesting an up to date statement and a f and f settlement amount.I told them I wanted it in writing not over the phone hope this was ok..??
True to connies word BC rang today and a lady said she was looking into it all and would contact me.

I still don't need it though..

    happy birthday MSE..!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in the end Iceland got the better of me 12 ice creams reduced from £1.50 to a pound..HS or the boys..the boys one they are happily licking away..
    well its the little things..
  • Has there been any contact from B/C yet Connie?

I may not be able to check your thread for a few days but just wanted to wish you luck!

    Take care.
  • Hi All,

Sorry I did not get back to you with the good news but my dad has been in hospital and had to help with mum who has alzheimers.

I had a phonecall last friday from a wonderful lady called shelly who said she was going to deal with everything.

I spoke to her yesterday and she has negotiated a full and final settlement of £761 to calder financial and a payment of £23 per month on my other debt I did not know I had.
She says she worked in the directors office and she said that some of the debt companies can be a bit over zealous and she was very horrified that alliance one told me to hurry up and pay before I died otherwise the boys would be liable.
So all in all atleast I know where I am now and I don't lie awake at night now worrying quite so much.
I did not open a bank accountant yet though I have been using a pre pay card which seems just as good..I think that I will stay away from banks for a while ..

Hope things are looking up for everyone else as well and thankyou for being so supportive..but please don't go away yet if it had not been for all of you this would not have happened..take care

    Honey

Have you checked that the Barclay card debt is recent enough for you to pay? If you have not paid in the last 6 years, it is statute barred and they cannot enforce it?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
