Whats the best low fat recipe for making a white sauce for lasagne? Making one sunday and want to be able to eat some too.Weight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0

I use a carton of low fat natural yogurt (or fromage frais) with a tin of chopped tomatos. Then if I want it more creamy i cut up a couple of laughing cow triangles into it.
I then only use a small bit of grated normal cheese for the top. (if I have enough calories to spare!)

I cut down the cheese ingredient by 1/4 and replace with a teaspoon of dried english mustard instead - try it and see - it's cheaper as well as being lower in fat0

Hi Shelbel,
There's an earlier thread with low fat recipes that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together. There are also more recipes on this thread: Lasange white sauce

i tend you get a chunk of butter, melt it down, add flour til it all comes together into a ball (i stir it off the heat) then add milk little at qa time stirring it in to make sure of no lumps. usually season once it's at desired consistency.

not the same but very tasty if you want a healthy version (think somebody on here suggested it to me once!):
i mix a tub of cottage cheese with a beaten egg and pour that over (normal size tub - for a large one, i guess use 2 eggs), with some seasoning.
i's still put cheese on top though, you can only make a lasagne so good for you!0 -
