11 February 2008 – Our Easy Access Savings Account interest rate is changing
Since December 2007 the Bank of England has reduced the Base Rate from 5.75% to 5.25% (as at 7 February 2008). Following these changes the interest rate on our Easy Access Savings Account will be changing. With effect from 15 February 2008 the new interest rate will be 6.05% AER.0 -
Well, to be fair, they've been equally fast at increasing their interest rates whenever the BOE rates have been increased so I suppose we can't complain. They advertise themselves as being a straighforward bank to do business with and that is exactly what we're getting. I'd rather deal with an organisation like this than ING, with whom I previously saved, who were pretty fast to reduce rates when the BOE rate came down and jolly slow at increasing them when the rate went up.0

I'm in the same position as wombat42, no mention of a cut to the savings account rate on their news page.0

.
I've clicked several times, including once with a browser with no cookies...
There is no reference to a reduction at all, nothing since mid-January in fact.
And, as someone said above, on 8th February they issued a statement that the rate is remaining at 6.3%.
Any chance of a screenshot?0 -
Yes I agree, this was to be expected, I have no issue with them responding to a base rate cut quickly as long as they respond in the same manner to increases.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
