no help at all but you made me smile.
Just to say that I am thinking of you Mudbath. (((hugs)))January Grocery 11/3740 -
Lil me- that is the only wall left with any tiles on, we took the rest off when we had a skip for the bricks and plaster from the fireplace.
Stage 1 is that we move into BR4 so that the polystyrene tiles can go from BR1, an airbrick can go in the chimney and we can lift the carpet to see just how bad the woodworm is before he adds a stud wall to divide the room into two. DH is happy to do this with his four days off. Sometimes he is just lovely....:kisses3:'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Thanks everyone!!! Bathtime could be fun this evening!!! DD1 did much the same when she was tiny - hence my own vaseline is stored out of reach!!! Typical that she should attempt hairstyling when I have just paid out for her haircut!!!!!!!!!
Oh well!!! MOJT - I'm still smiling now! (Not sure DD2 will be later though when she's got all that stuff on her hair!!)
Lil_Me - you are truly a mine of useful information! Thx heaps!!0 -
Well ladies, I'm going to experiment tonight. The kids are off doing their own Valentines day dinner so I looked in the fridge to see what's there for me.
I've decided on trying a stuffed butternut squash (that's been sitting on top for the last week glaring at me and demanding to be eaten!).
My grand idea goes along these lines - make a stuffing mix with tomatoes, finely diced potatoes, baby leeks, onion, garlic, celery, bacon and 'erbs (leek, garlic, celery and bacon lightly sauteed in butter first). Cut butternut squash widthways at the end of the bulb. Take the bulb bit, scoop out seeds, fill with stuffing mix, wrap all in foil and stick in a warm oven for a bit.
Do you think it'll work?I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Soappie - I am rubbish at that sort of thing but it sounds great to me
Just took a jug down from the top of kitchen cupboards to put some flowers in - it is vile up there so guess what I'm doing. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Pigpen - I have the same problem with my hair - what is it with curly hair that they want you to do the frizzy thing? If I leave mine to dry by itself it does that anyway. I pay someone £30 to make it do something else for once. Sorry, rant over. Have both boys to do, ds1 has hysterics so we do them at home.
I find the whole must be dry at three thing very strange. I can understand for school, but not for nursery. Our nursery says that you shouldn't force them and they will be ready when they are - they also do regular half price offers so I think they are great! DS1 was 4 before he was reliably dry. DS2 is 3 and a bit, and is just in training as he starts school in September.
Made some more hobnobs, wth coconut this time. Bad move, I really will not want my tea.
DH has a couple of days off so we need to do some work on the house. Time to get planning.
I want to go from this
delightful avocado suite and fully 1970s tiled walls
to something like this:
http://www.victoriaplumb.com/Chatsworth_bathroom_suite_packJ.html
Clean suggestions on how I persuade him that he wants to spend the next four days working towards it on a postcard please.....
DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those tiles are fabulous!!!
And the avacado bathroom suite is worth a small fortune.. they are making that colour again now because it is all in the retro genre.. If you can possibly manage it get it out all in one piece and get it listed for sale.. I promise you it WILL sell!!!!!!!!!!
Scrap the mirror cupboard and shower rail and get everything painted a crisp fresh white with details with very pale avacado.. like just coloured and it will be beautiful!!
that new suite will look so out of place in your house unless you have an old victorian house.. we have an original one pretty much the same in here.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

NOTHING gets it out.. wash it and wash it and wash it and wash it.

dustykitten - Happy Birthday!:bdaycake:
mudbath - thinking of you.
Have worked this morning, and Level 3 bathroom this pm, and the washing bag is empty! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Right - have now tried clarifying shampoo, (before I wet the hair), washing up liquid, a rinse with lemon juice and then another clarifying shampoo. Just waiting to get her out of the bath with hair dried and I will then report back on my efforts! (DS thinks we're doing some bizarre brainiac type experiment!)0
